The Role:

Hoskote Plant management representative, responsible for logistics functional area - organize and lead the plant logistics team to accomplish department objectives complimenting to organisational performance.

Develop and maintain the logistics organization structure, deploy KPIs and ensure adherence. Build and sustain a good working environment for the team.Order management, Production Planning & Control: Interface between Sales Organisation and Operations. Secure optimized production plan, both long term and short term to meet sales demand.Material control-Secure material on time for production from local, foreign suppliers and ensure effective collaboration with GTP, PL, SML etc and support supplier and supply chain development.Internal Logistics- Secure material availability at point of use using optimised resources (man, material, equipment’s, etc). Secure safe & efficient material handling and inventory management for production & non-production parts including waste handling.Logistics Engineering end-to-end and improve the logistics flow and processes as per VPS guidelines.Management Team – participate in all decisions related to the plant and provide logistic perspectives. Participate and promote all management initiatives in the plant.Ensure effective collaboration with all stakeholders (GTP,PL etc)

The Responsibilities:

Ensure effective material call off processes to secure availability at point of use as per target.Secure the most optimum statutory, legal and capacity utilization for the plantSafety of all logistics operations within the plantParticipate in the Plant Industrial plan by providing inputs w.r.t Logistics vertical of Industry.Participate in creating short and mid-term plant roadmap and finalising the strategic focus for the year and deploy the same in Logistics DepartmentResponsible for Policy deployment for the department- Breakdown of Plant objectives to Department objectives and individual KPI/PIDesign and implement improved logistics flows, processes, systems & infrastructure in line with VPS principles.Participate / develop network with GTO International Manufacturing for logistics function; resolve operational issues; share best practices; improve coordination and processes.Participate in Logistics Managers Network Meetings & implement activities/strategic directions decided in these meetings. Mobilise support from network/other plants if required and provide support to the network/other plants if required.Ensure compliance to all statutory, legal and ethical practices and ensure controlled deviation handling if required.Build a congenial work atmosphere to support harmonious Industrial RelationsParticipate in Volvo Group Pulse Workshops, conduct Performance touch points and support development of the team.Ensure participation of logistics members in all major Plant Projects/ improvements/initiatives.Co-ordinate with Sales and Operations team to create an optimised production plan – long term and short term. Create governance structure to review the same on a monthly/weekly/daily/hourly basis.Prepare Investment & Expense Budget for Logistics to meet Industry Business plan. Monitor and control expenses as per plan for logistics.Develop strategy for end-to-end supply chain management. Develop processes & systems to support the SCM processes to ensure minimum capital tied up in the Supply pipeline.Co-ordinate with the members of the supply chain to have a streamlined flow for parts (local & imported)- physical and information flow.Ensure safe, environment friendly and efficient handling of waste with co-ordination with external vendor and internal stakeholders. Provide inputs to other stakeholders (Purchasing, Production Logistics, etc) on supplier performance and strategic projects. Lead and develop plant logistics team, preparing them for the challenges of tomorrow.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

BE Mechanical / Automobile/ Production with at least 12 – 15 years of relevant experience & with managerial experience of 5 years in the logistics function. Knowledge of Supply chain (Purchasing / Material Planning / Logistics (Domestic/International) / Warehouse Management) ERP system Import / Export policy procedure, Customs rules & regulationsLeading Leader competenciesExperience in implementation of lean principles / VPS. Excellent Communication, Interpersonal & Networking SkillsExperience in IR and HR Processes and good negotiation skills.Project management skillsProblem solving & Deviation handling skills.Exposure/ Experience in Logistics systems like SAP etcLocal language skills (optional)
