JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR PROCESS LEAD

Basic Design and Detail Engineering

  • Developing Design Basis for Process Engineering.
  • Developing all Process Engineering Documents.
  • Develop process equipment design, specifications and review client proposals.
  • Process Calculations like Column Sizing, Heat Exchanger Thermal Design, Equipment Sizing
  • Thermal design of Heat Exchanger using HTRI.
  • Conceptual process studies and simulation studies using PRO/II & ChemCAD.
  • Process Calculations for process equipment such as separators, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, tanks, valves etc. as per applicable manufacturing codes.
  • Select appropriate materials and components for vessels based on project specifications, safety considerations, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Responsible for release of all process deliverable documents such as engineering specification, datasheet, requisition, technical evaluation, engineering drawing and reviewing vendor documents.
  • Develop the scope of work for PDP, FEED, and detailed engineering projects.
  • Participate in 3D model reviews.
  • Ensure standard procedures are in place and followed for design and engineering data.
  • Conduct reviews of vendor drawings, calculations and other documentation.
  • Ensure effective communications among other engineering disciplines, project teams, subcontractors and Client teams.
  • Responsible for providing information to other disciplines such as electric load and field work instruction.
  • Generate datasheets for process equipment such as separators, heat exchangers, tanks, valves etc.

Quality and Continuous Improvement

  • Facilitate technical discussions with third parties (client, suppliers, regulators) for gap analysis and improvement.
  • Safety and Compliance
  • Interpret and verify industry specific safety standards, guidelines, and codes for project deliverables.
  • Ensure that designs and operations meet safety and environmental regulations.
  • Participate in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) studies and risk assessments.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

Education - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering

Experience - 15 plus years of progressive experience in design engineering

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in engineering software for analysis and design (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus or similar)
  • Understanding of CAD and 3D Modelling Software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and codes such as API, ASME, OSHA, and local requirements.
  • The ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with process equipment design, including safety and environmental concerns.
