Mayten, a leading mobility technology company based in Brussels, Belgium, is on the lookout for an accomplished Technical Team Lead to spearhead our tech endeavours in Bangalore. In this role, you will bring not only technical expertise but also play a pivotal role in team management, including hiring and overseeing the development team.


Role Overview:

As the Technical Team Lead in Bangalore, you will lead our development team, providing technical guidance and project management oversight. This multifaceted position combines technical leadership with responsibilities for team management and successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities:


Technical Leadership:

  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and expertise to the development team, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality coding standards.
  • Lead the architectural design of software solutions, make informed technology decisions, and ensure scalability and maintainability.
  • Actively participate in software development, demonstrating expertise in coding and problem-solving.
  • Conduct and participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and consistency.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting knowledge sharing and teamwork among developers.
  • Identify and address complex technical challenges, ensuring that projects progress smoothly.
  • Effectively communicate technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Team Management:

  • Lead the hiring process for the development team, ensuring the recruitment of top-tier talent.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities of the development team, managing workloads and fostering a positive work culture.
  • Provide mentorship and professional development opportunities to team members.
  • Collaborate with HR to address team-related matters, including performance reviews and career development.


Delivery Management:

  • Oversee project timelines, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure efficient execution of tasks to meet project goals.
  • Allocate resources efficiently, monitor team capacity, and workload to optimize productivity.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that could impact project delivery.
  • Monitor project expenses to ensure they stay within allocated budgets.
  • Act as a point of contact for clients or external stakeholders, keeping them informed about project status and changes.
  • Manage dependencies between team capacity, project prioritization, budget, software quality, and committed deadlines.
  • Facilitate cross-functional project teams, ensuring efficient collaboration and communication.
  • Track and report on project progress, ensuring the achievement of team velocity and project milestones.
  • Identify and address obstacles or impediments to project success, working closely with teams to resolve issues.


Qualifications:

  • Proven Technical Expertise: 4-8 years of experience as a Technical Team Lead or similar role, with a strong technical background in software development.
  • Strong experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, and proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (knowledge of gRPC and JIB a plus).
  • Excellent skills in NextJS, TypeScript, and familiarity with TailwindCSS.
  • Leadership Skills: Exceptional leadership and mentoring abilities, guiding the team towards technical excellence.
  • Agile Proficiency: Proficiency in agile methodologies, techniques, and best practices for software development.
