Role: Data Analytics Visualization Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Role Overview:
The Data Analytics Visualization SME will work closely with the risk analytics team to transform data into visually compelling insights, supporting decision-making and risk analysis for stakeholders. This role involves designing data displays, developing AI/ML use cases, and maintaining visualization dashboards that meet the needs of executives and various business units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and draft concept papers to outline processes and develop data visualization strategies for risk analytics review and approval.
- Develop best-practice primers on data collection, analytical methods, data visualization, complex event processing, business performance management, performance measurement, predictive and prescriptive analytics, decision architecture, and executive reporting.
- Regularly update visual information products to reflect new data, analyses, models, and business requirements.
- Design AI and ML use cases focusing on anomaly detection and risk analytics.
- Upload and manage raw and analyzed data on the visual information dashboard, ensuring timely updates.
- Collaborate with HEB Risk team members and end users across different business lines to clarify reporting needs and develop effective designs for dashboards and reporting solutions.
- Support both legacy and modern database architectures to accommodate evolving data structures.
- Analyze and visually present trends across various data sources, including performance metrics, financial data, and risk portfolio analytics tailored to diverse stakeholder audiences.
- Effectively manage time and deadlines, consistently meeting project timelines.
- Engage and communicate proficiently with senior executives, peers, and contractor personnel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills essential for success in this role.
Required Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered in place of a degree (5 years of relevant experience).
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency with Tableau.
- Strong knowledge of Python and experience with machine learning libraries.
- Experience with data manipulation within cloud platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or GCP).
- Attributes: High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Clearance: Successful candidates will undergo a government background investigation and must meet eligibility and suitability standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced Tableau skills, including Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server, with experience in publishing and dashboard development (super-user level proficiency).
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and Presto, particularly for Oracle and Postgres environments.
- Familiarity with risk enterprise systems, including Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and Operational Data Store (ODS).
