Role Overview
As Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager – HR Payroll, you will lead payroll operations, statutory
compliance, taxation, and exit formalities across diverse employee categories. You'll ensure precision,
timeliness, and legal adherence while driving process excellence and cross-functional coordination.
What You'll Do
Payroll Operations
• Manage end-to-end payroll for On Roll, Off Roll, Consultants, Interns
• Validate inputs: attendance, leave, overtime, one-time payments
• Maintain registers: Salary Advance, Vpay & ASR, Joining Bonus
• Handle entity movement cases and related tax transitions
• Manage deductions: salary advance recovery, imprest, etc.
• Structure salaries, calculate arrears, bonuses, incentives
• Collaborate with Finance for salary disbursement
• Build dashboards: payroll, attrition, HC, comparison sheets
Taxation & Compliance
• Ensure accurate deductions: Income Tax, PT, etc.
• Manage investment declarations and proofs
• Oversee Form-16 issuance and year-end activities
• File statutory returns: PF, ESI, PT, LWF, S&E, ER-1
• Stay updated on labor laws and regulatory changes
Full & Final Settlements
• Process F&F: dues, leave encashment, gratuity, recoveries
• Coordinate clearances across departments (IT, Admin, Finance, etc.)
• Ensure timely F&F payments with Finance
Exit Formalities
• Maintain exit database and documentation
• Issue relieving, experience, and recovery letters
• Ensure compliance with legal and internal policies
Process Excellence
• Streamline payroll and compliance workflows
• Generate MIS reports: payroll, compliance, attrition
• Update policies based on statutory changes
What You Bring
Technical Skills
• Advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PPT)
• HRIS/ERP systems, payroll software (Keka, Excelity, etc.)
• Deep understanding of statutory compliance and tax frameworks
Functional Knowledge
• PF, ESI, PT, LWF, S&E, ER-1, Income Tax, Labor Laws
• Payroll structuring, F&F settlements, and documentation
Personal Attributes
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and discreet
• Strong problem-solving and stakeholder management
• Ownership-driven and proactive in evolving environments
Qualification & Experience
• MBA / PGDM in HR
• 7–10 years in payroll, taxation, compliance, and HR operations
