The Palo Alto Firewall Engineer will be responsible for configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Palo Alto firewall solutions, ensuring network security across the organization. Daily tasks include monitoring and analyzing network traffic, implementing security policies, and collaborating with IT teams to address security incidents and improve the company's security posture.Sr Network Security Engineer (Palo Alto Firewall)Job DescriptionTo install, support and maintain the Palo Alto suite of products. The Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, maintenance and enhancement of security infrastructure systems and equipment. This position will be involved remote site troubleshooting and support of complex Data Centre solutions.ResponsibilitiesDesign and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)Configure and install software, servers, routers and other network devicesDesign, Deploy and Manage firewalls, Palo AltoMonitor network performance and integrityResolve issues tiers of support have escalated by troubleshooting cloud and local infrastructureResponsible for LAN installation including switches and routers. (Cisco and HP)Automate tasks and monitor their effectivenessMentor team members on technical issuesCreate, oversee and test security measures (e.g. access authentication and disaster recovery)Pro-actively review and maintain client infrastructure\Communicate with users when neededMaintain complete technical documentationSuggest improvements to network performance, capacity and scalabilityEssentialKnowledge and experience installing and supporting Palo Alto Security Appliances (minimum three years)Experience of installing Cisco and HP networking equipment.Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer 7-8 (PCNSE7-8) certificationPreferred CCNP certified (or higher)Data knowledge of protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, SPT, TRUNKS, VLANs, Port-Channel,Static routing networking topologies and protocols. Examples being MPLS, VRF, SIP, Traffic Shaping / QoSPalo Alto Command line Cisco command lineMust have a good networking background and understandingA high level of Palo Alto expertise in design, configuration, migrations, tuning andcustomisation of featuresThorough knowledge of Panorama, Wildfire, Global Protect, and other Palo Alto features including and not limited to SSL decryptionFamiliarity with Data Centre environment and hosted deployments/cloudExperience of supporting clients remotely and face to face, along with experience of working with SIP providersExperience with Wireshark or other protocol analysersExcellent communication skills – both written and verbalMust be flexible to work outside of business hours as per business requirements.Needs to be able to remain calm under pressure and ensure a logical thought process is maintained.Educational QualificationsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, computer science, or management information systems12 - 14 or more years of industry-related experience as a Network Engineer or Network AdministratorDesirableKnowledge of Avaya and/or Mitel phone solutionsExperience of the Python programming language✨ Role Overview:Responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Palo Alto-based network security infrastructure.
