Role – Sustainability Manager- IndiaAccount specific role for a major tech clientReporting to - Regional Sustainability Manager APAC & Head of Operations IndiaLocation – Hyderabad/ BangaloreCandidate should be open to travel.Experience range- 5 to 12 years

Context:

As the Sustainability manager, you’ll be a thought leader, working closely with teammates in Sodexo (Client), and our global food service vendor partners to develop strategies to address sustainability needs in support of the food program’s growth and evolution for the assigned region.A successful candidate will translate strategies into programs that enable our global food service partners to operationalize sustainability into the daily execution of our program.The Sustainability manager role is the liaison between Sodexo at (Client) and its internal and external partners. Internal partners include: country operations, culinary teams, the wider Sodexo sustainability and corporate social responsibility organization and site level team membersThis role is designed to support initiatives that drive efficiencies while meeting Food at client program goals on health and wellness, transparency, and sustainability.

Key Success Areas

Subject matter expertise -

Provide a clear and persuasive perspective on

food systems and food trends; waste, water, energy within the context of food; and sustainable supply chains (e.g., seafood, beef, plant proteins, cacao, coffee, and palm oil). Keep updated on the developments in the global and Asia Pacific markets linked to climate, carbon, circular economy, sustainable food, social impact, etc.Strategy development -

Collaborate with sustainability, food operations and culinary leadership of our food service partners to define and operationalize the Food team’s sustainability strategies and programs to minimize environmental impact and meet or exceed sustainability goals.Project management -

Lead and manage a portfolio of operational and strategic initiatives and projects. Track and analyze progress, identify gaps, and propose solutions to improve intended results.Stakeholder management -

Partner with a range of stakeholders. Be a strategic thought partner, innovative problem solver, understand business needs and develop effective and scalable recommendations.Community development -

Foster, develop, and support local community initiatives and relations by building strong partnerships with key stakeholders: governments, NGOs, communities in doing the right thing, to mitigate risk, and to drive business growth and our brand.

Preferred profileBA/BS degree in Business, Food Systems, Sustainability, or other relevant field (or 5 to 10 years relevant work experience).At least 5 years experience in sustainability at a food organization or F&B operations (including culinary)Experience leading global complex operational and strategic initiatives. Track record of effectively managing and delivering against multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-moving environment.Deep understanding of the relevant authorities and functions in local regions that Sodexo would need to engage with to refocus and be recognized as a unique sustainability player in the food service market.Strong demonstrable passion about environmental sustainability and social issues.Project Management approach bringing structure to a program by being methodical and rigorous. Ability to see projects through to completion, by prioritizing tasks, keeping stakeholders informed.Outstanding communication skills; demonstrated experience in planning, writing, and producing communications plans and materials, including presentation and presentation design skills.
