About Satirtha Foundation:
Satirtha Foundation is dedicated to empowering children from marginalized communities through access to equitable educational opportunities. We operate three fundamental programs: Community Library Program, Language and Library Program in government primary schools, and Mobile Library Outreach Program . Our mission is to foster a love for reading, critical thinking, and empower children to become independent learners. We are striving to expand our programs and strengthen collaborations with Government Schools, local govt. educational officials and the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET).
- Roles and Responsibilities of Program Manager:
A. Strong Program Implementation & Quality Check Across the Assigned Operational Location:
- Support in setting up meetings with potential expansion partners and drive program quality.
- Drive the overall program aligned with program goals and track progress regularly.
- Ensure all quality measures are in place for effective delivery of the program on the ground.
- Facilitate academic sessions, meetings, and events, enabling the core team to execute them with desired quality.
- Create a learning-focused environment in each partner school across the operational area.
- Incorporate learnings from various government and NGO programs into program operations and delivery.
- Prepare documentation and reports as required by the program.
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills, managing multiple concurrent tasks and deadlines.
- Define and embed quality control parameters in collaboration with stakeholders across the district.
- Perform any other task as assigned by the chief functionary.
B. Team Management & Effective Team Building:
- Lead program operations at the district level with cross-functional teams in a participatory and consensus-oriented environment.
- Conduct field visits regularly to support field-level interventions and ensure effective program delivery.
- Analyze team practices through classroom observations, teacher feedback sessions, data analysis, and school visits. Identify areas for improvement and work with the team accordingly.
- Provide clear and direct feedback to the team based on practice analysis and reflective dialogue.
- Build team capacity through regular coaching and mentoring.
- Exhibit leadership skills, including self-initiative, self-motivation, and innovative thinking.
C. Building Strong Relationships with District Officials:
- Establish regular communication channels with district officials at routine intervals.
- Foster genuine partnerships with government stakeholders, identifying bright spots at different levels.
- Engage officials in operational planning and program design.
- Execute a district-specific communication package to create a sense of ownership among stakeholders.
D. Data Management, Learning, and Support in Broader Learning Questions:
- Share key data, stories, and feedback with the founding team about program implementation.
- Cultivate a data-driven, impact-oriented culture across the team.
- Track partner school progress to assess the effectiveness of program support.
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Education, Social Work, Development Studies, or a related field.
Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in program management, ideally in the education or development sector.
Commitment: A minimum commitment of 2 years is expected from the selected candidate.

- Belief in the potential of all students to achieve at the highest levels.
- Strong understanding of educational pedagogy and best practices in teaching and learning.
- Desire to learn and contribute to making schools conducive learning spaces.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on mentoring and guiding staff.
- Proven experience working with schools, educators, and local communities to improve education and literacy outcomes.
- Proficiency in facilitation and excellent communication skills in Assamese, Hindi, and English.
- Growth-oriented mindset, problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial attitude, strong work ethic, and multi-tasking ability.
- Experience working with large-scale stakeholders, particularly government officials.
- Knowledge of the education landscape in rural India and the challenges faced by government schools and first-generation learners.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
- Willingness to travel to program sites and work flexible hours.

Selection Process:
- The selection process consists of three steps:
- 1st Step: Submission of CV along with a cover letter.
- 2nd Step: This will be a technical round. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit pre-work for assessment. This will give you an insight into the type of work you will be required to do.
- 3rd Step: The candidates will be shortlisted based on assessment of the pre-work submitted. They will be invited for an interview (in-person or on Zoom). The final decision will be made based on the evaluation during the interview.
