We are an early-stage Robotics startup developing autonomous aerial robots. We are IIT Kanpur Alumni with extensive experience in building drones & autonomous systems for government, defence and enterprises in India and abroad.
With Stride Dynamics, we envision leading the next generation of autonomous drones in India and making global standard products for Enterprises, Defence and Government.

The Role
We are seeking a creative and skilled Product Design Engineer to lead the design and development of our next-generation drones and products. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering mindset coupled with an ability to think critically about space, weight, and strength optimisation, as well as a keen eye for aesthetics. From concept to production, you will be responsible for modelling drones and subsystems from scratch while ensuring manufacturability and maintaining a lightweight yet durable design.

The Work

• Conceptualise and Design 3D models focusing on optimisation of space, weight, and strength.
• Utilise a variety of materials, including plastics, composites, and metal, to achieve desired performance characteristics.
• Design enclosures and housings for electronics components, ensuring proper fit and functionality.
• Design Airframe, mechanical and structural parts of the drone.
• Develop modular assembly techniques for ease of manufacturing and maintenance.
• Implement innovative solutions for cable routing, damping, and fitment.
• Collaborate closely with the core team and tech team.
• Document design processes, specifications, and test results for internal reference and external stakeholders.
• Explore vendors and manage the manufacturing cycle.
• Stay up-to-date on industry trends and emerging technologies related to aerial robotics, consumer electronics and manufacturing.
• Lead the design initiatives in the company and grow as the company grows.

We're looking for someone with

• An engineering mind with a passion for design and eager to apply your skills to the growing field of aerial robotics.
• A creative thinker who understands the intricacies of fitting electronics components and mechanical properties in space-constrained products.
• Whether you're a fresh graduate or a seasoned pro, your ability to innovate is what sets you apart.
• A degree/diploma in engineering (or is a passionate self-taught tinkerer) with a focus on design and functionality.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion 360 (preferred), etc.) for 3D modelling.
• Understanding of additive manufacturing and plastic structure designs.
• Experience and proficiency in surface/form modelling & lofting.
• Strong understanding of mechanics and structures.
• Knowledge of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) and design optimisation.
• Familiarity with materials selection and manufacturing processes, including injection moulding, CNC machining, and additive manufacturing.
• Ability to work independently (you are your manager and leader) and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Enjoys tinkering and embraces the iterative design process.
• Communicates clearly and works effectively by self exploring things.
• A knack for documenting with clear, concise technical drawings and specifications.
• Familiarity with design for manufacturing (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.

Bonus if you:

• Have experience with drones or a background in robotics.
• Have extensively worked in designing monocoque and surface-based structures.
• Have design experience in automobiles or consumer products (Electronic gadgets, toys, etc.).
• Have experience in Industrial Design (ID).
• Can't resist taking things apart and putting them back together (better).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹20, ₹75,000.00 per month
