This position shall be responsible to handle day to day operations related to Import/export in accordance with GBA standards and international trade/customs guidelines abided by suitable duties, licenses, compliances / regulations etc.

The person shall the handle, schedule, track and deliver both export & import shipments while working in tandem with related parties like overseas customers / suppliers, govt agencies, CHA, freight forwarder & local transporter etc.

Core Tasks:

Import Management

Execute end to end movement for import shipments at single / different destinations by adhering safe and time bound delivery.

1. Assessing and verifying import documents so as to ensure smooth Bill of Entry filing (BoE) and subsequent customs clearance in accordance with applicable duties, taxes and customs compliances.2. Monitor shipment’s TAT, address in-transit delays, resolve customs queries, supplement customs via CHA’s with additional applications / documents as and when needed.

Export Management

Process different types of export shipments (for e.g. commercial, free of cost, misc. goods, 3rd party manufacturing, repair or others) by coordinating between inter or intra departments for good readiness, preparing export documentation and scheduling timely delivery at destination.

1. Execute customs clearance at origin port by validating contents in the Shipping bill (SB) with respect to shipping documents, applicable taxation and export linked benefits / licenses / compliances etc.2. Manage operational handling which includes sub activities such as local transportation, shipment tracking and freight forwarding.

Peripheral Tasks

Freight management, transportation management, vendor management and courier management

1. Verification & processing of service bills to accounts (i.e. clearance, freight forwarding & post carriage transportation) for timely payment to logistic vendors.2. Using customs platform such as ICEGATE etc. for computing and validating shipment’s duty structure, query resolving (If applicable) and tracking overall clearance status etc.3. Monthly reporting, documentation / information in accordance with dept. KPIs.4. Creating and verifying E-way bills for both inbound & outbound shipments on GST site as per the shipping documents.

Special Note: To carry out/take on any other duties which are within the employee’s skill and ability whenever reasonably instructed by his manager as per departmental/business needs.

Essential

1. Bachelor’s degree in commercial / engineering2. 6+ years of experience particularly in manufacturing environment of any sector3. Having knowledge in logistics & international business/customs.4. Good Knowledge of ERP system (SAP- MM/SD)5. Expertise in end-to-end logistics operations (includes import/export & customs) at country level multi locations/sites environment.6. Expertise in maintaining day-2-day relationship with CHA’s, transporters & freight forwarders.

Desirable

1. Good Knowledge of MS-Office, Project management2. Any logistics specialization course/import-export diploma.
