Aboutthe Role: Scribble Datacustomers trust them with their data and the outputs and expectcuttingedge tools and thought processes. The product is at thecenter of the relationship withcustomers.
Asa Lead Engineer you will work on extending functionality forHasper. Your role will alsoincludedelivering working systems atop Hasper for Scribbles customers withhigh attentiontodetail ensuring trust robustness performance andease of use. Your responsibilities willinclude:
  • Develop highperformancedata processing systems.
  • Develop and deployrobust distributed scalable near realtime data processinginfrastructure that can support various downstream applicationsincluding reporting analytics user intelligence machine learningand decision support.
  • Incorporate customerfeedback and new asks from customers into ongoingdeliverables.
  • Accept nothing less thantopquality code and think in terms of code reviews unit integrationendtoend tests in a fastmoving development environment deliveringincremental value daily.
  • Track and researchemerging trends as well as competitors thereby creating feedbackloops for the productteam.

Whatwe are looking for:
  • 5years industry experience in backenddevelopment.
  • Fluency in Python; you know thelanguage and its quirks not having just writtenscripts.
  • Strong command ofSQL.
  • Strong understanding of computer scienceconcepts (OOD algorithm design data structures algorithms executionand memory optimization).
  • Strong softwareengineering skills systemlevel thinking and problemsolving abilitypaired with the love to build and ship robustcode.
  • Experience developing and publishing APIsusing web services.
  • Strong communication andcollaboration skills to work with stakeholders from differentbackgrounds.
  • Bachelors/Masters in ComputerScience.

Niceto haves:
  • Havingbuilt a product at a startup.
  • Experience inbuilding data infrastructure / systems for data workflowmanagement.
  • Experience in fullstackdevelopment.
  • Experience working in dataheavyapplications
  • Fluency withPandas
  • Experience using at least some amongdistributed storage (e.g. S3) serverless architecture (e.g. Lambda)streaming data (e.g. Kafka) and scalable search (e.g.Elasticsearch).
  • Experience with big datatechnologies like mapreduce NoSQL Spark HBase andHive.
  • Experience with data security protocolsand data accesscontrols.
