Key Responsibilities :
Control-M Job Scheduling & Administration :
- Manage and configure Control-M job scheduling and workflow automation for various applications and systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain job schedules across multiple environments, ensuring that they are completed on time and without errors.
- Monitor job executions, identify potential issues, and take necessary actions to prevent or resolve job failures.
Job Monitoring & Troubleshooting :
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot Control-M jobs and workflows to ensure smooth execution and minimal downtime.
- Investigate and resolve any issues related to job failures, delays, or system conflicts.
- Analyze job logs and metrics to identify root causes of problems and take corrective action.
Workflow Optimization & System Performance :
- Collaborate with IT teams to identify and implement improvements in job scheduling and workflow efficiency.
- Perform regular system performance reviews and fine-tune Control-M configurations to improve efficiency and reduce job execution time.
- Ensure that scheduled jobs are optimized for peak system performance and minimal resource usage.
Documentation & Reporting :
- Maintain comprehensive documentation related to Control-M jobs, configurations, and workflows.
- Generate and maintain reports on job execution, system performance, and optimization efforts.
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and troubleshooting procedures for future reference.
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement :
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including application owners, system administrators, and IT support to align scheduling processes with business and technical needs.
- Contribute to process improvements to enhance scheduling efficiency, reduce errors, and support overall system reliability.
System Upgrades & Configuration Management :
- Participate in system upgrades, patches, and version control of Control-M to ensure the latest functionalities and optimizations are implemented.
- Ensure all configurations are aligned with business requirements and best practices.
Required Skills :
Control-M Administration :
- Hands-on experience in Control-M job scheduling and administration.
- Expertise in monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing Control-M jobs and workflows.
- Strong knowledge of Control-M components such as Control-M/Enterprise Manager, Control-M/Server, and Control-M/Agent.
IT Workflows & System Performance :
- In-depth understanding of IT workflows and system performance tuning.
- Experience in ensuring job execution reliability and troubleshooting issues related to job failures, delays, or scheduling conflicts.
Problem Solving & Troubleshooting :
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to quickly identify and resolve issues within job scheduling environments.
- Ability to analyze job execution logs, troubleshoot system errors, and implement corrective actions.
Communication & Team Collaboration :
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with both technical teams and business stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Knowledge :
- Knowledge of batch job scheduling, cron jobs, and other related technologies.
- Familiarity with various operating systems such as Unix, Linux, and Windows in the context of job scheduling.
Certifications & Education :
- Control-M certification or equivalent experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience with distributed systems, cloud environments, and job scheduling on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Shell scripting, Python, or Perl to automate tasks and enhance workflows.
- Experience with automation and DevOps processes related to job scheduling and workflow management.
