Role Summary

As a Lead IT Security professional, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the organization's information security program. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the organization's assets, data, and systems against potential threats and vulnerabilities. This position requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

What the role entails – Key accountabilities/ responsibilities

  • Strategy Development: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT security strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate information security risks across the organization. Develop risk mitigation strategies and ensure their timely implementation.
  • Security Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain robust security architectures for networks, systems, and applications. Ensure that security controls are integrated into all aspects of IT infrastructure.
  • Security Operations: Oversee day-to-day security operations, including monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to address security incidents promptly.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001). Conduct regular audits and assessments to assess compliance levels and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Security Awareness: Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for employees. Promote a culture of security awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
  • Security Testing: Conduct regular security testing, including penetration testing and vulnerability scanning, to identify and remediate weaknesses in the IT environment.
  • Incident Response: Lead the incident response process in the event of security breaches or incidents. Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to contain incidents and minimize impact.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers. Evaluate vendor security practices and ensure compliance with contractual security requirements.
  • Team Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to the IT security team. Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.

Requirement

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) preferred.
  • Proven experience (X years) in IT security roles, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility.
  • Deep understanding of information security principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Experience with security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls).
