Our mission is to build highly functional engineering teams, and we want to make hiring more straightforward, efficient, and human.About this roleWe are looking for a skilled 'Software Engineer in Test' engineer to join & work alongside our Australian engineering team. You will work to design, develop, and maintain automatedtest suites for our web and mobile applications. You’ll work closely with QA, development, and Dev Ops teams to ensure delivery of high-quality software at speed.Benefits100% Remote.Working with international teams in a remote environment.End-of-year complimentary time off. A paid holiday that's on us.No time tracking software or micromanagement of tasks. You own your work.Humane working hours - 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Monday through Friday. It's rare for us to work on weekends/holidays.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitect, implement, and maintain automated tests using Cypress for end-to-end UI testing.Develop and extend test frameworks in C# and Type Script for API, integration, and unit testing.Configure and schedule nightly executions of UI tests using Git Hub ActionsAnalyse test results, triage failures, and collaborate with developers to resolve defects.Write clear, maintainable, and reusable test code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.Continuously improve test coverage, performance, and reliability.Mentor junior QA engineers on automation tools and techniques.Required Qualifications3+ years of experience in test automation for web applications.Strong hands-on experience with Cypress for end-to-end testing.Proficiency in C# and/or Type Script, with solid object-oriented programming fundamentals.Experience building and maintaining test frameworks (e.g., NUnit, x Unit, Jest).Familiarity with Azure Dev Ops: pipelines, repos, artifacts, and test plans.Working knowledge of AWS: provisioning, IAM, and basic troubleshooting.Comfortable with Git and modern development workflows (feature branches, pull requests, code reviews).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, k6).Design and implement mobile-automation scriptsKnowledge of Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks (e.g., Cucumber).Experience with monitoring/logging tools (e.g., Application Insights, Cloud Watch, Datadog).Certification in ISTQB, AWS, or Azure Dev Ops.Our approach to Flexible WorkingAt stackway, we value and respect differences.
