Job Title:

Solution Architect with Pre-Sales Focus


Overview:

A Solution Architect with Pre-Sales Focus is responsible for designing, describing, and managing solution engineering in relation to specific business problems, while also supporting the sales team during the pre-sales process. This role involves understanding business requirements, creating technical solutions, presenting these solutions to clients, and ensuring that technical architecture is implemented successfully.


Key Responsibilities:


Pre-Sales Support :

  • Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and requirements.
  • Develop technical presentations, proposals, and demonstrations to showcase solutions to potential clients.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations to articulate the value and benefits of proposed solutions.


Architectural Design :

  • Develop and maintain architectural blueprints for complex business solutions.
  • Design scalable, secure, and robust technical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Ensure architecture aligns with the company's technology strategy and standards.


Requirements Analysis :

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand and document their needs and requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into technical specifications.


Technical Leadership :

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams.
  • Ensure best practices and standards are followed during the implementation.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that arise.


Solution Development :

  • Lead the development of proof of concepts (POCs) and prototypes to demonstrate feasibility.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle of solution development including design, build, test, and deployment phases.


Stakeholder Collaboration :

  • Work closely with project managers, business analysts, and developers.
  • Communicate architectural decisions, plans, goals, and strategies to stakeholders.


Technology Evaluation :

  • Evaluate new technologies and software products to determine their potential impact and value to the business.
  • Recommend technology solutions that best fit business needs.


Documentation and Reporting :

  • Create comprehensive architecture documentation.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on the progress of architectural initiatives.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

Technical Skills :

  • In-depth knowledge of enterprise systems, software architecture, and design.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong understanding of various programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, C#, Python, Node.js).

Pre-Sales Skills :

  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in developing proposals and RFP responses.

Experience :

  • Proven experience in a solution architect role or similar position.
  • Experience with both on-premises and cloud-based solutions.
  • Experience in project management and software development lifecycle (SDLC).

Soft Skills :

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership and team management skills.

Education and Certifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF, PMP) are a plus.
