As a Principal Backend Software Engineer at Optym India, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our backend systems. You will lead a team of talented engineers, driving technical excellence and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and performance of our software products. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our customers and propel our company forward.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable, high-performance backend systems.
Architect robust, maintainable, and efficient solutions that meet the technical requirements and business objectives.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize features, ensuring alignment with business goals.
Conduct code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and enforce best practices to maintain code quality and consistency.
Drive innovation by exploring new technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance our software development process.
Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and other challenges to ensure the long-term success of our systems.
Champion engineering best practices, standards, and processes to improve productivity and efficiency across the organization.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements, applying relevant knowledge to drive continuous improvement in our technology stack.
Collaborate effectively with distributed teams in an agile environment, delivering high-quality software on schedule.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
8-10 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development.
Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, distributed systems in a production environment.
Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python or similar.
Deep understanding of cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and optimization techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed systems.
Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate team members.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working in an agile development environment, practicing continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) methodologies.
