Job Description

Responsible for selling a sub-set of Consulting solutions and services. Drive gathering and reuse of IP in positioning Consulting solutions. Contributes to the achievement of a solution/business unit target. Has a good understanding of the relevant market. Recognized senior solution expert internally and externally. Provides detailed expertise in creating technical solutions for specified needs and for creating cross-solutions where needed. Drive key strategic sales programs and initiatives in alignment with Licensee sales. Lead strategic account planning for major accounts where in depth knowledge of a solution set, including competitive offerings affect the long term objectives and strategy.

The Strategic Solutions Director is responsible for driving consulting bookings through strategic sales and delivery initiatives. The role requires deep industry knowledge and software implementation experience to create innovative offerings which drive business outcomes at competitive prices. The role will collaborate with customers and other Oracle teams to identify common customer needs and develop unique ideas to differentiate Oracle products and consulting services. This director-level role will serve as advisor to existing and prospective customers and help guide decisions to best practice approaches and solutions.

The role will lead the Deregulated Utility Market Solutions initiative and will require deep understanding of deregulation in the utilities industry and how market participants interact in the meter-to-cash process. The role should have a thorough understanding of types of billing models between utility distribution companies and retail service providers. The director will be expected to understand business processes related to meter reading, field work, billing, payments, credit collections – and where the handoffs are in terms of responsibility and information sharing between market participants.

Deep understanding and experience implementing market transaction solution integration between the Customer Information System with market participants is a must. The most qualified candidates will have deep experience in at least two US markets, Canada, and ideally exposure and knowledge of deregulated markets in regions outside North America.

The Strategic Solutions Director will be expected to lead at least one major Strategic Initiative per year to drive consulting bookings globally through the following activities:

Business Development Lead the marketing for the offering to develop new leads and opportunities Build and maintain relationships with customer decision makers to build relationships and spawn new opportunities Direct sales support Meet or exceed FY25 target bookings Manage the global pipeline of opportunities working closely with regional Sales Directors for planning and prioritization Partner with account reps in sales activities to strengthen our changes to win Maintain relationships and references with current customers Develop reusable sales, commercial, and delivery collateral Enrich the offering by identifying new markets and developing unique ideas to become/remain a leader in the space. Partner with Innovation Lead to move the ideas into action. Prepare project teams and provide continuity to customer and sales pursuit teams throughout the sales process and early stages of the project. Provide monthly initiative updates to sales and delivery leadership teams Collaborate frequently with consulting sales leadership on the effectiveness of the initiative as measured by actual or fore-casted bookings.

Preferred Qualifications

10+ years overall relevant experience in the utility industry Experience implementing deregulated utility market solutions for at least two customers (gas and/or electric) – preferably with Oracle Customer Care & Billing, Customer to Meter, or Customer Cloud Service Experience in at least two deregulated utility markets (gas and/or electric), and ideally exposure and knowledge of deregulated markets in regions outside North America  In-depth knowledge of utility day-to-day operations: customer care, metering, fieldwork, finance, etc  Business development / consulting sales:  Strong client-facing presentation and communication skills Bid strategy, approach, and scope definition RFx response Oral presentations – preparation and delivery Contracting
