RINA is currently recruiting for a Principal Risk, Safety & Reliability Engineer to join its office in Mumbai within the Operations and Maintenance Engineering Division. Mission This role plays a critical leadership role and Excellent technical experience in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of chemical and petrochemical plants, energy production system and alternative fuel applications, driving innovation and excellence in risk management and reliability engineering practices #LI-KS1 Key Accountabilities 1.Risk Analysis Leadership: - Be a Focal Point and lead teams in identifying and assessing potential hazards within chemical and petrochemical plants. -Prioritize risks based on severity and likelihood, guiding the development of risk mitigation strategies. 2.Comprehensive Risk Evaluation: -Conduct detailed pros and cons evaluations to assess the overall risk profile of the plant. -Provide expert guidance on risk management strategies, considering regulatory requirements and industry best practices. 3.Safety Measures Definition and Implementation: -Define and implement preventive and mitigative measures to mitigate identified risks, ensuring comprehensive protection of personnel and assets. -Develop and implement safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines for plant operation. 4.Reliability Evaluation Mastery: -Apply advanced expertise in RAM methodology to evaluate the reliability, availability, and maintainability of plant systems. -Identify opportunities to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime through proactive maintenance strategies. 5.Design Optimization Leadership: -Lead collaborative efforts to optimize plant design during the design phase, ensuring safety and reliability are prioritized. -Drive the implementation of innovative design modifications to improve plant efficiency and performance. Education Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical EngineeringQualifications - Extensive experience (at least 15 years) in risk analysis and safety management within the chemical and petrochemical sector, preferably with expertise in handling flammable materials. - Proficiency in utilizing risk assessment tools and methodologies, such as HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis). - Strong understanding of RAM methodology and its application in evaluating equipment reliability and performance. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. - Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks and industry standards governing safety and reliability in the chemical and petrochemical sector (e.g., OSHA, API standards). - Professional certification in risk management or process safety (e.g., Certified Process Safety Professional - CCPS).
