Job Summary:

Hospital Architect will lead the design, planning, and execution of alteration and addition projects within healthcare facilities, including hospitals and clinics. This role focuses on upgrading, expanding, and reconfiguring existing healthcare spaces to meet evolving needs while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
  • Proven experience (10+ years) in healthcare architecture, particularly in managing alteration and addition projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare facility regulations, codes, and safety standards.
  • Expertise in space planning, renovation, and facility upgrades in a healthcare setting.
  • Proficiency in design software like AutoCAD, Revit, and other architectural tools.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.


Key Responsibilities:

Design & Planning:

  • Develop architectural solutions for alterations, expansions, and reconfigurations within existing healthcare environments.
  • Create detailed plans and layouts that optimize space for patient care, staff workflow, and healthcare services.
  • Ensure designs comply with medical and healthcare regulations, integrating necessary upgrades for functionality and safety.

Alteration & Addition Projects:

  • Assess existing facilities to identify areas for modification, ensuring the preservation of structural integrity while improving utility.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to understand operational needs and incorporate them into the design of alterations and additions.

Provide innovative design solutions that enhance the patient and staff experience while minimizing disruption to ongoing operations.

Compliance & Regulatory Standards:

  • Ensure that all alteration and addition projects meet healthcare facility regulations, building codes, and safety standards.
  • Focus on infection control, accessibility, and emergency response features in the redesign of spaces.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of evolving healthcare compliance requirements.


Site Inspections & Quality Control:

  • Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and oversee construction activities, ensuring adherence to approved designs.
  • Address and resolve issues or discrepancies that arise during construction, maintaining project quality and timelines.
