Overview

We are looking for a passionate and innovative R&D Chemist with experience in coatings formulation and development. The role involves designing, testing, and optimizing advanced coating systems across construction, paints, and textiles, with a strong focus on silicone-based technologies. The candidate will contribute to new product development, process improvements, and application testing to support our innovation pipeline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and optimize coating formulations for construction, paints, and textile applications.
  • Conduct research on silicone-based coating technologies and integrate them into product development.
  • Perform laboratory experiments, raw material evaluations, and application testing.
  • Collaborate with the production team to scale up formulations from lab to pilot to full-scale manufacturing.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of formulations, experiments, and results.
  • Stay updated with new raw materials, technologies, and industry trends to drive innovation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales, Manufacturing, Quality) for technical support and product improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards in all lab activities

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of polymer chemistry, surface coatings, and formulation science.
  • Hands-on experience with raw materials, additives, and coating performance testing.
  • Knowledge of construction coatings, paints, or textile finishes is preferred.
  • Familiarity with silicone chemistry and applications in coatings is a plus.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Qualification

  • M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Chemistry (Polymer Chemistry, Surface Coating, or related specialization preferred).
  • 2 to 5 years of experience in coatings R&D / formulation (fresher with relevant projects may also be considered).
