Texas Instruments | Digital Power Applications Lead

This is a highly visible role for a Applications/Firmware Engineering Lead with
7+ years
of experience who designs leading-edge embedded hardware and firmware solutions of digital power supply, influence new generation digital power controller definition, support validation of new chip features in coordination with designers and system architecture engineer. The ideal candidate needs to have rich experience in architecting, testing and validating and/or designing real-time firmware & be familiar with digital power supply system.
The Applications lead will also work closely with customers, systems, field and marketing teams to understand the customer’s application needs and translate them into best in class winning solutions. You may also spend hands-on time in a TI lab tackling problems and delivering innovative development solutions that support our products and drive revenue.
Responsibilities :
Develops architectures and designs easy-to-use, easy-to-learn and easy-to-adopt real-time demo code for the worldwide digital power customers using ARM based TI digital power controllers.Proactively provide technical training/support to WW key customers to support different phases of the design-in process.Consult with Systems and Designs to define common customer features/designs for new product definitionTrain FAEs on products.Work with marketing and systems to support competitive analysis.Evaluate customer returns to recreate issue and provide recommendations.Support on-site and off-site customer board bring-up and debug camps.Own online forum support and provide prompt and meaningful response.
Desired Skill Set:
Must have a strong understanding of fundamentals of power electronics, power conversion, control systems and circuit analysisMust have good grasp of power converter topology analysis modelling, digital power conversion and control concepts.
Working knowledge and experience in embedded C, assembly language programming for power converter control. Familiarity and experience with ARM processors would be an added advantage.Working knowledge and experience developing, bring up, characterization and productization of AC-DC , DC-DC and Inverter topologies (in areas of solar inverters, EV charging, server power, telecom power etc) preferably with digital control -with microcontrollers / FPGA/ microprocessorsExperience with simulation tools like SImplis, Matlab, Simulink-control/power toolboxes, PLECS for analysis and prototyping
Knowledge and experience in magnetics design for SMPS would be an added advantage.Knowledge of digital communication interfaces like PMBus, SPI, UART, CAN-FD etc would be an added advantage
Must be a strong team player with customer centric focus, capable of operating in a challenging and dynamic environment with worldwide customers, applications, field and sales teamsMust have strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong time management skills that enable on-time project deliveryMinimum qualification: Bachelor of Engineering/Technology (electrical engineering)Preferred qualification: M.Tech/M.E in Power electronics/drives/energy systems
