Position Summary

As a part of Teach For India & Kids Education Revolution’s strategy for the upcoming decade, we aim to launch Kids Education Revolution School, an ed-tech solution for children across India to access high-quality content (through videos, games, and hands-on activities) to help them grow as leaders and change-makers. This one-of-a-kind digital learning platform will equip children with 21st-century skills that will enable them to solve real-world problems and develop critical mindsets such as building self-awareness, collaborating with others, and working towards building a better country and world. 

As a part of the Kids Education Revolution School Team, your core priorities will revolve around developing curriculum and content for our digital platform and collaborating with diverse stakeholders to pilot and evolve the product while measuring its effectiveness.

Please note that this is a part-time Consultant contractual role for 6 months.

Team Overview

The Kids Education Revolution (KER) is a bold and ambitious platform of collective action that is empowering students on their own journeys of change-making, and creating opportunities and spaces for educators and kids to listen to and learn from each other. KER was a dream that started in 2016 with the small yet incredibly powerful idea that students can be our partners in reaching all our children with an excellent education. Today, that dream has grown into a movement embraced by thousands of students and educators across the globe who are leading innovations in student agency, voice and leadership. Responsibilities

The roles and responsibilities stated below cover the key aspects of the day-to-day work but may evolve over the year.

Content Review and Adaptation

Review existing content in the form of session plans, student profiles etc, and study relevant material and resources. Assess alignment of existing content with learning outcomes and objectives. Adapt and restructure existing content to optimize relevance and effectiveness for digital learning environments while also being fun and engaging for children.

Instructional Design and Development

Design age-appropriate, inclusive, engaging, and interactive activities suited for digital learning environments. Implement evaluation mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of content. Analyse qualitative and quantitative data trends and iterate content based on user behavior and feedback.

Contribution towards Product Development 

Conduct FGDs with users and key stakeholders to gather trends, insights and learnings to feed into the final product. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including technology experts, external partners, and other members of Kids Education Revolution’s network. Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in instructional design, educational design, and content development.

Minimum Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations

Bachelor’s degree in any field. Minimum 2 years of work experience in education, preferably student-facing roles. End-to-end project management experience (from vision setting to implementation) Excellent communication skills - written and verbal. Ability to design holistic, age-appropriate learning experiences for children in the realm of non-academic learning. Ability to work in an unstructured environment and develop strategy independently, while constantly evaluating the effectiveness of their decision making.  Orientation towards innovation (openness, risk-taking, embracing failure) and scale (strategic thinking, identification of key levers, making informed bets). Strong organizational Skills - Time Management, Project Management, Planning, and Execution skills. Strong work ethic, resilience, and continuous learning. Commitment to Teach For India’s core values and vision.

Preferred Qualifications, Experiences and Expectations

Passion towards social change and belief in the principles and philosophy of Kids Education Revolution. Knowledge about UI/UX development, comfort with tools such as FIGMA and Miro. Openness and excitement to don diverse hats on the team. Collaborative by nature. Deliberate reflection.
