Job Summary:
As the Head of Academics & Training, you will play a pivotal role in setting academic standards, driving curriculum quality, and ensuring a high standard of teaching and learning across all Makoons institutions. This leadership position focuses on overseeing academic strategies, training educators, and fostering an environment that promotes learning excellence and innovative pedagogy. Extensive travel is required to support the schools across different locations, ensuring consistency and quality in academic practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Strategy & Oversight:
- Develop and execute a strategic academic vision for Makoons Group of Schools, establishing policies and processes to uphold high educational standards.- Lead the curriculum implementation across Makoons Play School and Makoons World School, ensuring alignment with national and global educational frameworks.- Conduct regular reviews and enhancements of academic programs to ensure they remain current, effective, and engaging.
Training & Professional Development:
- Design and lead comprehensive training programs to continuously enhance the teaching competencies of Makoons educators.- Organize workshops, seminars, and hands-on training sessions that focus on innovative teaching methodologies, classroom management, and student engagement.- Mentor and support academic staff to drive professional growth, creating a culture of continuous learning and development.
Quality Assurance & Assessment:
- Establish and maintain assessment standards, analyzing student performance data to inform curriculum adjustments and improve teaching practices.- Conduct site visits to Makoons centers to observe teaching methods, provide feedback, and support teachers in implementing best practices.- Ensure that each school meets the academic benchmarks set by Makoons, conducting periodic audits and evaluations for quality control.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Collaborate with school principals, teachers, and regional coordinators to address academic challenges and optimize instructional practices.- Engage with parents, providing insights into academic programs and student progress, building strong relationships with the school community.- Report directly to senior management on academic performance, training initiatives, and overall quality across the network.
Travel & On-Site Leadership:
- Travel extensively to Makoons locations across India, ensuring hands-on guidance and support for academic initiatives and educator training.- Act as the academic ambassador for Makoons, fostering consistent academic standards and serving as the primary resource for on-site academic challenges.
Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field; a Ph.D. is preferred.- Minimum of 8 years of experience in academic leadership, curriculum development, and educator training.- Strong background in early childhood and K-12 education, with a proven record of academic excellence and innovation.- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse academic team.- Proficiency in contemporary educational technologies and methodologies, with a commitment to promoting student-centered learning.- Willingness to travel frequently and engage with Makoons centers across various regions.
