Role Description  

initializ is looking to hire a Senior Java Developer to join our highly talented Labs team. As a Java Developer at initializ, you’ll be embedded in the Labs Engineering team, where you can work on next-generation Cloud Native Application Development. You’ll get to work directly with other Software Engineers, Product Managers, and Directors on challenging projects, all of whom comprise the team. In this highly collaborative environment, you will have the opportunity to grow as a software engineer. 

 

Requirements  

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Collaborate with senior technical stakeholders and customers to design and implement robust backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot. 
  • Advocate for code quality and rapid delivery of business value while creating exceptional software and user experiences. 
  • Drive architecture and implementation decisions, get hands-on with code to bring features to life, squash bugs, and manage technical debt. 
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub workflows to automate and streamline the release process. 
  • Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills to guide stakeholders through architecture decisions and showcase the team's technical work's value. 

 

Technical Experience Required  

 

  • Minimum 7 years of software development experience in a professional environment working with Java technologies - J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot , Spring Data, RESTful microservices, In-Memory Computing, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka/RabbitMQ, and RESTful API’s. 
  • Experience with security principles, Spring Security, OAuth2, OIDC, JWTs, SSL, Cryptography 
  • Hands-on experience with application design, software development, and automated testing 
  • Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) 
  • Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, relational or NoSQL databases. 
  • Ability to effectively interpret technical and business objectives and challenges and eloquent solutions. 
  • Ability to learn and investigate new technology and business domains, question the status quo, and think outside the box. 
  • Ability to debug essential software components and identify code defects for remediation. 
  • Experience working in Agile or other rapid application development methods. 
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills. 

 

 

Preferred Qualifications  

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field 
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification is a plus. 
  • Prior experience in a similar role within a fast-paced tech company.
