Overview: As an Engineering Manager at JB Poindexter (India) Private Limited, you will be responsible for delivering assigned activities by meeting business unit requirements. This role involves leading and coordinating multiple projects across diverse teams, focusing on developing efficient processes, executing effective strategies, and ensuring the timely completion of projects. You will play a key role in researching and developing innovative products, creating project budgets, and overseeing their successful execution throughout the year. Collaboration with various teams will be essential to ensure that projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. Essential Responsibilities: Team Leadership: * Build, lead, develop, and coach teams of top technical talent. * Support the Mechanical Engineering team in the design and development of Solutions products and components. * Provide technical and general guidance to engineering teams in Mechanical & Structures Design. Project Management: * Develop project plans, including resource requirements, timelines, and improvement targets. * Manage and execute projects to approved deliverables. * Plan and manage a pipeline of projects to meet production and efficiency improvement targets. * Create and foster a company-wide culture of Lean Operations. Resource Management: * Forecast resource needs and make hiring decisions. * Coach, counsel, mentor, and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities. * Ensure employees are working effectively with all development teams, providing ongoing developmental feedback. Compliance and Reporting: * Provide periodic updates to senior management in the form of progress reports, project summaries, and other related documents. * Enforce company rules and policies regarding ethical behavior, safety, security, use of company property, and time charging. Innovation and Improvement: * Foster an innovative work environment leading to improvements in product, process, quality, and productivity. Team Management Responsibilities: * Build and manage diverse engineering teams and conduct performance review meetings with customers. * Oversee people management, mentoring, and setting team goals and KPIs. * Interact with onsite stakeholders, process owners, and BU's engineering team to understand project requests and finalize the scope of work. * Delegate tasks and project guidelines. * Document engineering team tasks, activities, and performance. * Coach team members to enhance their technical capabilities and increase productivity. * Track, prioritize, and plan assigned tasks, escalating as necessary. * Conduct weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly reviews with BU's and internal management on overall team performance. Qualifications: * Mechanical Engineering degree with 12-15 years of experience, particularly in New Product Development in the Truck and Body Manufacturing industry. * Minimum 5-7 years of team or people management experience. * 5 years of full cycle project management experience. * Experience in FEA is a plus. * Strong technical knowledge of Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Plastics, and FRP products. * Expertise in SolidWorks is a plus. * Strong program management, process management, and technology & strategy management skills. * Excellent executive communication and leadership skills. * Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to facilitate diverse groups, negotiate priorities, and resolve conflicts. * Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and manage constant change. * Results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment. * Experience working closely with the US business team to drive end-to-end products and solutions.
