Position Title: GIS Engineer

Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka

Role Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and deeply enthusiastic GIS Engineer to join our organization. You need to have knowledge related to GIS or related field, with a thorough technical knowledge of GIS, Spatial Data, Development & Database concepts.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:Geospatial data analysis – handling and storing the geospatial data.Experience with handling NetCDF files, .tiff files, .shp files, geojson files.Experience in GIS Developer role, QGIS, ArcGIS, ArcPy, Python.Fluent in any one of the programming language e.g., Python/R/MATLAB.Raster & Vector data file handling.Handling open-source resources such as Apache Sedona, Geopandas and Dask for geospatial data processing.Data Management: Lead the process of building and maintaining a spatial data and tools library for projects.Handling open source satellite data files e.g. global - temperature data, precipitation data, CMIP6 data.Strong SQL skills required in PostgreSQL, PostGIS.Monitoring and maintenance of all components that make up the GIS Spatial Data infrastructure.Knowledge of open layers/leaflet and cesium ion api.

Education & Experience:Bachelors/ Masters in GIS related field.1 or more year experience in handling GIS based database.

Skills:Troubleshooting the GIS database query as per requirement.Strategic vision, Strong technical and analytical capabilities.Strong reporting and writing abilities.Good communication, able to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise way.
