JOB DESCRIPTION: GENERAL MANAGER (PRODUCTION)

We are seeking an experienced General Manager (Production), oversees all aspects of the production process, from planning to completion, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to safety standards, lead a large team, manage resources, and implement strategies to optimize efficiency and meet production goals and customer satisfaction.

Job Description:

1. Production Planning and Scheduling:

Developing production schedules, managing resources, and ensuring timely delivery of products.

2. Resource Management:

Overseeing equipment, facilities, and personnel to ensure efficient operation and cost-effectiveness:

3. Quality Control:

Implementing quality control measures, ensuring products meet standards, and addressing quality issues.

4. Team Leadership:

Motivating, guiding, and supporting production staff, fostering a positive work environment

5. Continuous Improvement:

Identifying and implementing improvements to production processes, equipment, and workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

6. Budget Management:

Managing budgets, negotiating with clients, and ensuring production costs are within budget.

7. Compliance:

Ensuring adherence to safety protocols, regulatory standards, and industry best practices.

8. Communication:

Communicating with upper management, other departments, and stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and address any issues.

9. Inventory Management:

Managing inventory levels, ordering materials, and collaborating with procurement.

Role & Responsibility:

• Responsible for facility and equipment setup to ensure preservation of company assets.
• Responsible for Space production and SMT line production delivery on time, Status update to management.
• Hiring and training of skilled operators, technicians, workers, and other support personnel per department organization chart.
• Process documentation development including work instructions, training guides, and internal quality standards.
• Project delivery with quality and in timeline.
• Completion of setup operations coincides with successful completion of mass production of first product.

Management of electronics production (Space and Ground) department:

• For SMT line: SMT, Printer, Reflow, Wave Solder/selective solder, X -Ray, manual insertion, test, and rework equipment and operations.
• For space production: PCB fabrication and Assembly, MIC, HMC, MMIC attachment and Assembly Package assembly, integration and testing, Test & Evaluation Le. vibration test, Tvac test, EMI/EMC etc...

Operational Responsibility:

• Schedule, refine and oversee preventive maintenance activities.
• Ensure first article approvals are carried out prior to each production run.
• Ensure product made on schedule meets quality requirements. Ability to understand and resolve 1st level issues on the floor with equipment and processes in a hands-on manner.
• Responsibility for department P/L in regards to efficiency and waste.
• Track and document the top three production issues for each product in production.
• Perform root cause analysis on production fallout, Initiate and facilitate Kaizen and Lean initiatives to solve problems, streamline the process, reduce waste and improve quality
• Initiate, coordinate, and manage inventory cost control program.
• Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
• Supervise and ensures effective employee relations.
• Provides employee coaching and development opportunities.
• Motivates production team creating a culture of personal responsibility.
• Resolves employee issues through problem resolution,
• Gives timely feedback.
• Create, document, and sustain standardized work practices

Qualifications & Experience:-

• Bachelors/Master degree in ECE Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field 12+ years in the Space and defence Manufacturing role, with at least 7 years in leadership roles driving Production.
• Proven track record of technical teams and managing complex projects delivery.
• Expertise with space and defence product production in timely manner.
• Experience with AS9100D, ISO 9000 certification processes.
• Excellent leadership with 50+ team handling capability, good in communication, and problem-solving skills.
• International experience or exposure to global markets.
