At STRI we are hiring a for aManager/ Sr Manager Budgetary Control for a Chennai based NGO.


Theperson will take on the responsibility for ensuring the budget isproduced in a timely manner and controlled throughout the year withrequired analysis/liaison required with the other teams and timelyreporting to the donors as per the requirement. He/she willcollaborate and work alongside with the NGOs existing employees incompleting the assignedtasks.


Primaryresponsibilities include but are not limitedto:
  • Preparingand managing annual budgets with adequate controls effectivemonitoring andreporting
  • Effectivelymanage donor fund utilization including providing realtimevisibility for program teams and donors preparing fund utilizationreports and required liaison with programteams.
  • Designeffective budget models for various programs and the entirecompany
  • Analyzefinancial information (e.g. revenues expenditures and cashmanagement) to ensure all operations are withinbudget
  • Presentannual budgets to senior managers
  • Forecastfuture budget needs based on conversations with program heads andprevioustrends
  • Identifyvariances between actual and budgeted financial results at the endof each reportingperiod.
  • Reviewthe company s budget for compliance with legal and FCRAregulations
  • Ensuredepartment managers meet budget submissiondeadlines
  • Designand implement effective budgeting policies andprocedures
  • Cashflowmanagement
  • Supportin donor conversations/donor audit asrequired

Requirements

EducationQualification /Experience:

  • 23years of relevant workexperience
  • Professionalqualification (CA / CMA)required
  • Priorexperience with trust / society accounting would be anadvantage.

KnowledgeSkills andAbilities:

  • Goodinterpersonal and communicationskills
  • Goodworking knowledge in MS office packages includingExcel
  • Resourcefulresponsible andselfstarting
  • Abilityto manage dataefficiently.

Minimum 5-7 years of prior experience preferably in Projectmanagement Experience of running a start-up would be an advantageFundraising experience would be an advantage Prior volunteeringexperience is mandatory. Familiarity with using the Internet - doing onlineresearch, compiling and putting things together, Google Docs,Social Media, etc. Strong conceptual, planning, operational andanalytical skills. Good interpersonal and persuasive skills toengage a wide variety of stakeholders - citizens, bureaucrats,entrepreneurs, non-profit founders, policymakers, etc. Ability tomanage and implement programs and get results as the core focusVery responsive - quick to get back to people, always available.Fluent in English and Tamil communication (written & spoken).Reliable& Dependable - punctual, good at meeting deadlines, andtaking ownership of the project and its outcomes.
