We’re looking for a remote Mid-level DevOps Engineer with strong API experience to own the build and run of secure, scalable APIs on Azure. ou’ll work across design, development, deployment, and operations — ensuring our API platform is robust, observable, and production-ready. You’ll collaborate with software engineers, architects, and AI specialists to integrate modern Azure AI services where they add value. This role is perfect for someone with a .NET background , strong Azure DevOps skills , and a passion for API lifecycle management and cloud automation . Core Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain REST and SOAP services using .NET Core or .NET Framework Publish, secure, and govern APIs through Azure API Management (APIM) with policies for transformation, caching, routing, and authentication Deploy and operate cloud workloads including Azure Functions , Web Apps , Container Apps , AKS , API Gateway , and WAF Implement and enforce security best practices including OAuth 2.0 , mutual TLS (mTLS) , SSL/TLS , RBAC , and secure API design principles Automate CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps with infrastructure as code (Bicep , Terraform , or ARM templates ) Monitor and troubleshoot using Application Insights , Log Analytics , and Azure Monitor , with alerts and dashboards for production visibility Integrate Azure AI services such as OpenAI , AI Search , and Document Intelligence into backend APIs where appropriate Debug issues end-to-end across application, infrastructure, and network layers in hybrid (cloud + on-premise) environments Provide operational support for selected on-prem workloads (e.G., IIS and Java servers) Align API design with frontend SPA consumers (e.G., Angular , React ), including CORS and versioning considerations. Required Skills and Experience Proven .NET developer background with strong API design and integration experience Hands-on with Azure Functions , Azure API Management , AKS or Container Apps , API Gateway , Web Apps , and WAF Strong CI/CD experience using Azure DevOps , with infrastructure automation via Bicep , Terraform , or ARM Deep understanding of OAuth 2.0 , mTLS , SSL/TLS , Azure RBAC , and secure API design principles Proficiency with REST , SOAP , JSON , and XML protocols and data formats Practical experience with Application Insights and Log Analytics for monitoring and troubleshooting Awareness of frontend API consumption patterns , SPA integration , and CORS handling Experience supporting production environments , including incident response and post-incident reviews
