Sr. Engineer – Mechanical Design

Vertiv is looking for a talented Mechanical Engineer to join its DC Power Engineering team. Vertiv focuses on the development and delivery of innovative Telecom Site controls solution within the Telecom domain. Vertiv provides good working environment that is flexible.

POSITION :

Sr. Engineer – Mechanical Design

DEPARTMENT : Engineering -DC Power LOB

JOB DESCRIPTIONThe candidate will focus on the design and development of sheet metal enclosures for Telecom indoor and outdoor applications. Candidate will work in cooperation with other design engineers and cross functional teams.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Good knowledge of sheet metal design and sheet metal working processesKnowledge of 3D design and 2D drafting using SolidEdge/CREO or any other CAD softwareAbility to work with speed and accuracy to deliver manufacturing drawings and other documentsExperience in design of sheet metal enclosures for indoor and outdoor applicationsKnowledge of enclosure design considering dust and water Ingress ProtectionKnowledge of testing for heat load calculations, noise level and fan selectionBachelor’s

Degree in Mechanical Engineering3- 5 years of relevant work experience

DESIRABLE

Knowledge of DFMEA and GD&THands on Experience on sheet metal prototype developmentExposure to electrical switchgear like MCB, MCCB, Fuse etcKnowledge of busbar design considerationsKnowledge of structural and thermal analysisAbility to work independently with least supervision

RESPONSIBILITIES

Design of complete sheet metal enclosure (3D design and manufacturing 2D drawings).Conduct design review with cross functional teamsVisit supplier and manufacturing plant for prototype developmentHandle all design related activities from product request till prototype developmentResponsible for timely and accurate delivery of drawings and other documents
