Reports to: General Manager / Director
Employment Type: Full-Time
Job Overview:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for managing the overall operations of the Asian Paints warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective management of inbound, outbound, and inventory processes using a Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role requires strong leadership and expertise in warehouse operations, with a focus on maintaining high standards of accuracy, productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management:
Oversee all day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate processing of inbound, outbound, and inventory activities.
Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain operational excellence and compliance with company policies.
Continuously monitor and improve warehouse performance metrics, including throughput, accuracy, and efficiency.
Inbound Operations:
Manage the receipt and storage of incoming materials, ensuring that all goods are inspected, verified, and stored correctly.
Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to manage delivery schedules and resolve any discrepancies in shipments.
Ensure that all inbound activities are accurately recorded in the WMS and that inventory levels are updated in real-time.
Outbound Operations:
Oversee the order fulfillment process, ensuring that all customer orders are picked, packed, and dispatched accurately and on time. (Track warehouse OCT)
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with all regulatory and customer requirements.
Inventory Management:
Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring that stock levels are optimized to meet business needs while minimizing excess inventory.
Conduct regular cycle counts, stock audits, and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy and prevent stock discrepancies.
Implement best practices in inventory management, including FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and batch/lot tracking, to maintain product quality and traceability.
WMS Utilization:
Maximize the use of the RF based WMS to streamline warehouse operations and ensure real-time visibility of inventory and order status.
Troubleshoot WMS-related issues and coordinate with IT support to resolve system problems.
Train warehouse staff on WMS functionalities and updates to ensure they are proficient in using the system.
Team Leadership:
Lead, coach, and develop a team of warehouse supervisors and staff, fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and high performance.
Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback, and address any performance-related issues.
Ensure that all team members are trained on safety procedures, equipment usage, and operational best practices.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse operations, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen, to drive operational excellence.
Reporting & Documentation:
Prepare and present regular reports on warehouse performance, including key metrics such as order accuracy, inventory levels, and productivity.
Maintain accurate records of all warehouse transactions and activities for audit purposes.
Communicate effectively with senior management, providing updates on warehouse operations and any potential risks or issues.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or a related field. MBA or advanced certifications (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) are a plus.
Experience:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in warehouse operations management, preferably in a WMS-driven environment. Experience in the paint or chemical industry is a plus.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including inbound, outbound, and inventory management.
Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other related technologies.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven track record of leading large teams.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
Order fulfillment accuracy and timeliness, handle peaks efficiently.
Inventory accuracy and turnover rates
Warehouse productivity and efficiency
Working Conditions:
Ability to work in a dynamic warehouse environment with mechanized systems.
Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
Physical requirements may include lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
