COMSOL is seeking an Applications Engineer to join its Applications team to work with pre-sales and post-salessupport of users of the COMSOL® software.

As a successful applicant, you are expected to have a well-rounded education within an engineering or scientific discipline and experience with simulating technical applications. With this basis, you will be expected to develop your technical proficiency in new areas of science and engineering as you help COMSOL’s users simulate their future innovations and ideas.

Primary Responsibilities

Pre-Sales Leads Qualification and Prospect Support

• Demonstrate the building of clear and understandablesimulation examples for prospective customers on simulations of their applications.

• Actively participate in discovery calls along with sales personnel to provide technical input and assess the feasibility of applications for prospective clients.

• Demonstrate the use of COMSOL® software, summarize its features in web meetings, and support prospective customers on the modeling of their applications.

• Actively Participate in web-based workshops, webinars, and other marketing, and sales events.

• A willingness and ability to travel to current and potential customers to run COMSOL-sponsored events and activities in India.

Post-Sales Technical Support and Training

• Support customers on use of the COMSOL® software fortheir applications, along with a variety ofMultiphysics applications involving other engineering disciplines.

• Initiate and participate in subsequent sales opportunities toexisting customers or the colleagues and other departments ofexisting customers.

• Develop your technical and simulation knowledge andabilities through working with sales and support cases bothindependently and in cooperation with other sales andapplications engineers.

• Run introductory training courses along with the technical discussions.

Minimum Qualifications

• A master’s degree in engineering, physics, appliedmathematics, or a physical science with six months or moreexperience in modeling structural mechanics applications basedon numerical methods, such as the finite element method orsimilar.

• Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal andcommunication skills on the phone, in person, and in writing.Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses asense of urgency

• Current eligibility to work in India.

• This is an in-office position.

Preferred Qualifications

• A master’s or higher degree in engineering, physics, appliedmathematics, or a physical science with six months or moreexperience in modeling based on numerical methods, such asFEM, that has been gained as part of project work at acommercial company, government research facility, oruniversity.

• Coursework in computational electromagnetics, CFD, Structure, Acoustics, Thermodynamics, or equivalent.

• Familiarity with numerical methods such as FEM, FVM, FDTD, MoM or similar.

Personal growth

Supporting your success in your role as an Applications Engineer will be other simulation engineers and software developers who occupy the top echelons of their areas of expertise. You will see and participate, on a daily basis, the development and operation of many and varied cutting-edge new technologies. As an applications engineer, you will work with some of the most preeminent engineers and scientists in their respective fields who are simulating innovations and ideas for the future.
