Proven track record of successful Power Electronics system projects from concept to production.
Candidates with experience of working in EV charger design industry are highly preferred.
Position Overview:
The R&D Executive - Power will contribute to the design, development, simulation, and implementation of Power Electronics based systems and their testing and integration with Embedded System for SIRI’s innovative product lines. This role involves working on advanced technologies for applications in electric vehicle (EV) chargers, renewable energy systems, and industrial power supplies as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and reliable product and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power electronics concepts and converter topologies, switching converters and embedded systems, an in-depth understanding of circuit design, a passion for technology and innovation, and a proven
track record of successful project contributions.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Development
• Design and develop power electronic circuits, including inverters, converters, and power supplies.
• Integrate power electronics with embedded systems and DSP for control and monitoring.
• Conduct simulations and analyses to optimize circuit performance and reliability.
• Select and evaluate components for power electronic systems and embedded control units.
• Lead the system architecture, design, and development of Power Electronics based systems for new and existing products.
• Develop product & solutions from the concept to production.
2. Prototyping and Testing
• Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts.
• Perform detailed testing and troubleshooting of power electronic systems and their embedded controls.
• Analyze test results and make necessary design adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
3. Embedded Systems Integration
• Develop and implement firmware for embedded systems used in power electronics applications.
• Optimize embedded software for real-time control of power electronics.
• Ensure seamless communication between power electronics hardware and embedded systems.
4. Project Management
• Manage and execute multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, firmware, and software engineers.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
• Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.
5. Research and Innovation
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in power electronics and embedded systems.
• Conduct research to develop new technologies and improve existing products.
• Contribute to the innovation process within the R&D team.
• Publish research findings and present at industry conferences as needed.
• Participate in brainstorming, ideation, and conceptualization of new product features (NPI) and functionalities.
6. Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with hardware, software, and QA/QC, Product Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of system components.
• Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively to stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with external vendors and partners as needed to support project goals.
7. Documentation and Compliance
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for designs, development processes, and test procedures.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in power electronics design and development.
• Designing of various power conversion topologies such as Converters, Inverters, Buck, Boost, LLC resonant, DAB, Power factor control, Fly-back converters, Half Bridge, Full Bridge, AFE, etc.
• Strong understanding of magnetics design principles, including the transformers, common mode chokes and inductors in power electronics systems.
• Strong Knowledge of Diodes, Thyristors, SiC MOSFET, IGBTs, power semiconductors and their characteristics & gate drivers.
• Experience with simulation and design tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or similar.
• Knowledge of semiconductor devices and components used in power electronics.
• Understanding of thermal management techniques for power electronics.
• Familiarity with control systems and digital signal processing (DSP) for power electronics.
• Experience with PCB design and layout for power electronic circuits.
• Knowledge of EMI/EMC considerations in power electronics design.
• Understanding of regulatory standards and safety requirements for power electronics (e.g., UL, CE, IEC).
• Experience with embedded systems, including microcontrollers, DSPs, firmware development, and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Embedded C, C++, Python for embedded systems.
• Experience with embedded development tools, debuggers, and emulators.
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet etc.
• Should have good experience in using testing equipment like, DSOs, Spectrum/ Logic Analyzers, Power Meters, Network Analyzers etc.
• Good skills on documentation and Presentation.

• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Working Conditions:
