Position Overview:

The R&D Executive - Embedded will contribute to the design, development, and implementation of Embedded IoT systems for SIRI’s innovative product lines. This role requires a solid understanding of Embedded hardware, Firmware coding and software integration, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality and reliable embedded product solutions. The ideal candidate should have an experience in embedded systems design, a passion for technology and innovation, and a proven track record of successful project contributions.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Development

• Lead the system architecture, design, and development of embedded systems and firmware for new and existing products.

• Develop high-quality, efficient, and maintainable code for different architectures of MCU’s and MPU’s and other embedded OS platforms.

• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded software and hardware to ensure reliability and performance.

• Develop product & solutions from the concept to production.


2. Project Management

• Manage and execute multiple projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications.

• Collaborate with project managers to define project scopes, timelines, and milestones.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and interns.


3. Research and Innovation

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in embedded systems and related IoT technologies.

• Conduct research to identify innovative solutions and improvements for current and future products.

• Participate in brainstorming, ideation, and conceptualization of new product features (NPI) and functionalities.


4. Collaboration and Communication

• Work closely with hardware, software, and QA/QC, Product Engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of system components.

• Communicate technical concepts and project progress effectively to stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.

• Collaborate with external vendors and partners as needed to support project goals.


5. Documentation and Compliance

• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for designs, development processes, and test procedures.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.


Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Embedded C, C++, Python, and Assembly.

• Strong knowledge of microcontrollers, microprocessors architectures and embedded operating systems (RTOS & Linux).

• Experience with embedded development tools, debuggers, and emulators.

• Familiarity with hardware design principles, Analog & Digital electronic circuit design.

• Knowledge of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, CAN, and Ethernet etc.

• Experience with Version control systems (e.g., Git).

• Experience with wireless communication technologies (e.g., Bluetooth, Zigbee, Wi-Fi etc).

• Experience with EV charger protocols such as OCPP, ISO15118, V2G, CCS, CHAdeMO, GB/T.

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles for embedded systems.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

• Familiarity with Machine learning and AI applications in embedded systems.

• Good understanding of Processor architecture, peripherals, and experience in working with various Microprocessor/ Microcontrollers and Embedded Hardware design concepts, Analog & Digital Circuits.

• Should have in-depth knowledge in high level Software programming Languages like Python, Embedded C, C++ for various 8/16/32/64-bit Processors, Device Driver programming for various Embedded Operating Systems etc.

• Should have Hands-on Experience and knowledge in Firmware application Development & API Integration for Embedded Real Time Systems.

• Should have good Knowledge and understanding of Embedded software design and Debugging Techniques.

• Should have good experience in using various embedded development tools/ hardware Debuggers, ICE, JTAG etc.

• Should have good knowledge and experience in various Wired/ Low Power RF Wireless Technologies like Bluetooth, ZigBee, Wi-Fi, LORA, 6LowPAN, Sigfox, UWB, GSM/GPRS, LTE Cellular, RFID, PLC, POE Ethernet, USB, CAN etc.

• Should have good knowledge on IoT Tools & Networking Protocols, Security, IoT Software framework, Gateway, Enterprise & Cloud integration using TCP/HTTP/MQTT and Rest API’s.

• Should have good Knowledge in RTOS concepts and Experience in RTOS like Free-RTOS, Vx- Works, Linux, Raspberry Pi OS etc.

• Should have good experience in using Hardware development tools/testing equipment like, DSOs, Spectrum/ Logic Analyzers, Power Meters, Network Analyzers etc.,

• Should have knowledge about various types of Analog/ Digital sensors used in Industrial IoT applications like, Vibration, Accelerometer, Temp, Pressure, Humidity, PID, Motion Detectors, Light Sensors, Proximity sensors, Environmental sensors etc.

• Good knowledge of EMI/EMC, Certification & Standards.

• Good skills on documentation and Presentation.
