WordPress & Shopify Developer Role Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled WordPress & Shopify Developer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining websites and eCommerce platforms. The role involves creating custom themes, implementing plugins/apps, optimizing site performance, and ensuring seamless user experiences. The developer will collaborate with designers, marketers, and project managers to deliver high-quality, responsive, and conversion-driven websites.

Key Responsibilities

WordPress Development

  • Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins.
  • Convert PSD/Figma/Sketch designs into responsive WordPress sites.
  • Configure and manage CMS, ensuring smooth functionality.
  • Implement SEO best practices, schema, and site structure optimization.
  • Maintain and update existing WordPress websites.

Shopify Development

  • Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify stores.
  • Customize Shopify themes and Liquid templates.
  • Install and configure Shopify apps to enhance store functionality.
  • Optimize product pages, checkout flow, and overall UX/UI for conversions.
  • Ensure mobile-first, responsive design across all devices.

General Web Development

  • Ensure websites are optimized for speed, performance, and security.
  • Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, and CRM tools.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and fix technical issues.
  • Perform regular backups, updates, and site monitoring.
  • Collaborate with the design and marketing teams to align website functionality with business goals.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in WordPress (themes, plugins, Gutenberg, Elementor, WooCommerce).
  • Proven experience in Shopify (Liquid, theme customization, apps, Shopify Plus preferred).
  • Strong front-end development skills: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX.
  • Familiarity with PHP, MySQL (for WordPress custom development).
  • Experience with Shopify API & RESTful APIs integration.
  • Understanding of SEO principles and website optimization.
  • Knowledge of version control (Git) and deployment workflows.
  • Experience with responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with headless CMS and Shopify Hydrogen.
  • Knowledge of advanced WooCommerce customization.
  • Experience with marketing tools (Google Analytics, Tag Manager, Meta Pixel).
  • Understanding of CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization).
  • Experience in Agile project workflows.

Role Variations
