Project Manager – BESS (Solar)
will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects integrated with solar PV. The role requires strong technical, commercial, and project management expertise to ensure timely and cost-effective execution while meeting quality, safety, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project execution for utility-scale or C&I solar + BESS projects from kickoff through commissioning.
- Coordinate across cross-functional teams – engineering, procurement, construction, HSE, and commissioning – to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage BESS technology partners, integrators, and subcontractors to meet contractual obligations and technical requirements.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk registers.
- Oversee permitting, regulatory approvals, and interconnection processes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, standards (IEEE, NEC, IEC), and safety norms.
- Conduct site visits, monitor construction progress, and manage site-level issues.
- Implement effective change management and claims handling procedures.
- Liaise with clients, utilities, and third-party stakeholders for smooth communication and reporting.
- Lead project review meetings, generate project status reports, and provide updates to senior management.
- Ensure handover to O&M/asset management teams with all documentation and performance validation in place.
Qualifications And Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (Master's or PMP preferred).
