Middle Office Department

Global Corporate Middle Office Department is part of the Middle Office Department provide a one-stop shop to Global Corporate Investment Banking Relationship Managers, Portfolio Credit Representatives, Product Partners, customers, and other stakeholders for all customer-related enquiries.

The candidate will play a key role in the Client Services team, primarily through tasks related to the management of the Bank’s portfolio of customers. The Client Service Team operates in parallel to the dedicated KYC team, by sharing knowledge and resources to service clients.

The candidates require a high level of responsiveness to internal and external customer requests and strong critical thinking ability as work is performed without substantial direction after initial training.

Must be able to work the hours of 6.30am – 3.30pm IST.

Job Responsibilities:

- The candidate will be supporting the GMID for Global Corporate and Investment Banking in Oceania region and responsible for day-to-day business transactions, and customer service matters.- Monitor covenants, credit ratings, market events, sector trends and client performance as part of ongoing portfolio monitoring duties. Ensure no overdue accounts.- Conduct product suitability reviews for new and existing clients in accordance with Company’s established policies and procedures.- Provide support to credit-related improvement projects and initiatives, incl. the update of credit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations.- Support in internal and external audits(Credit Examination, JFSA / APRA / BoJ / RBI / Statutory etc.) by coordinating activities for the department.- Daily tasks including booking of loans, deposits, transaction clearance on sanction screening, and resolving booking and settlement issues.- Proactively assist with complex customer service needs for a one-stop customer service experience.- Assist in making sound decisions regarding customer requests balancing risk with opportunity.- Evaluate customer service issues by identifying root causes and making recommendations for process improvement.- Maintenance of static data including customer information, RMA establishment and hold code management, update change of authorized person, facilitate exceptional handling approval and preferential pricing treatment.- Liaison with internal departments on new workflow, reporting and administrative function.- Ensure high data quality, participate in data clean-ups and validation exercises.- Assist with special projects and implementation of department initiative as appropriate.- Support rendered is expected to expand covering wider APAC region;- Provide junior members of the team with guidance and support.

Job Requirements:

- Minimum 10 + years of experience in an analytical and/or client coverage role within corporate and/or investment banking. Knowledge of structured products and/or project finance will be an added advantage.- The candidate should possess a degree in Accounting, Finance and/or engineering science, fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Having relevant post-graduate qualifications and/or professional qualifications such as CA / CFA / FRM will be an added advantage.- Some knowledge in corporate banking products and services such as interest rate, loans and deposit, foreign exchange, trade finance, remittance and relevant documentation would be highly regarded / preferred.- Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications is a preferred.- Other qualities sought include problem solving, interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and under time pressure, multi-tasking while maintaining attention to details and high accuracy; ability to analyse and interpret data.- Challenge the status quo and adaptability to change, balance with strong team spirit and strict compliance culture.- Experience in customer service especially in handling large corporates and multinational companies are added advantage.- Must be able to work from 6.30am– 3.30pm IST)
