Key Responsibilities:Team Leadership : Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Linux and Windows administrators, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities.System Administration : Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.Performance Monitoring and Optimization : Implement and utilize monitoring tools to track system performance, diagnose issues, and optimize server performance.Security Management : coordinate the security team ensure robust security measures are in place across Linux and Windows systems,Backup and Recovery : coordinate with backup team to Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.Automation : coordinate with BCP team to implement automation tools and scripts to streamline system administration tasks, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.Collaboration : Work closely with other IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to support business projects, resolve issues, and integrate new technologies.Documentation : Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.Incident Management : Lead and manage incident response efforts, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate with other teams to resolve problems promptly.Compliance and Standards : Ensure all systems adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.Project Management : Plan, manage, and execute projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, ensuring timely and successful completion.
Qualifications:Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 10 years in system administration with extensive experience in both Linux and Windows environments; at least 5 years in a senior managerial or leadership role.
Technical Skills :Proficiency in Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, SolarWinds).Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.Strong understanding of security best practices and tools (e.g., SELinux, firewalls, Active Directory).Strong skills on managing Database like Oracle, MS SQl and fine tuning, clustering etc,Proven experience in Clustering activities like Redhat, Windows &Veritas Cluster.
Soft Skills:Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
