We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior Manager for the role of Linux/Windows Administrator. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the installation, configuration, maintenance, and optimization of both Linux and Windows-based systems. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive technical expertise and the ability to lead a team of system administrators to ensure the highest level of performance, security, and availability of our IT infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Linux and Windows administrators, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities.
  • System Administration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Implement and utilize monitoring tools to track system performance, diagnose issues, and optimize server performance.
  • Security Management: coordinate the security team ensure robust security measures are in place across Linux and Windows systems,
  • Backup and Recovery: coordinate with backup team to Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
  • Automation: coordinate with BCP team to implement automation tools and scripts to streamline system administration tasks, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual intervention.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams, developers, and stakeholders to support business projects, resolve issues, and integrate new technologies.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Incident Management: Lead and manage incident response efforts, troubleshoot system issues, and coordinate with other teams to resolve problems promptly.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure all systems adhere to company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Project Management: Plan, manage, and execute projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations, ensuring timely and successful completion.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in system administration with extensive experience in both Linux and Windows environments; at least 5 years in a senior managerial or leadership role.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems (e.g., Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
  • Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus, SolarWinds).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and tools (e.g., SELinux, firewalls, Active Directory).
  • Strong skills on managing Database like Oracle, MS SQl and fine tuning, clustering etc,
  • Proven experience in Clustering activities like Redhat, Windows &Veritas Cluster.

Soft Skills:

Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
