Department

You will be part of the Global Shared Services Team - Cement who supports Capital and Service procurement, expediting and logistics globally. By joining this team, you will have the chance to work in an international environment involving different cultures and different challenges.


Purpose of the role

As Category manager, you will be required to develop “global as well as regional” reliable, cost effective and quality vendors in very important category of Fabrication to support the business. This effort will also lead to improvement in customer satisfaction via improved DIFOT and quality of the offerings.

Your responsibilities

Performs assigned analyses of market conditions and trends within the interest areas of FLSmidth as a basis for decision making
• Monitors the market and performs analyses of market conditions in order to contribute to the overall cost efficiency of the procurement organization
• Secures the global spend management system is working and provides spend reporting to different parts of the procurement organisation
• Gives input to development of own area and shares bests practices to contribute to the development of global strategies
• Compiles specific reports and performs calculations to support Procurement, Sales and Projects
• Leads projects around specialized area within global procurement to support deployment of global procurement strategy
• Promotes a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities

What you bring

Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships and credibility both internally and with external clients with strong customer service skills. Demonstrated business acumen to develop realistic business plans with stretch targets and the clear plan to reach those targets. Demonstrated knowledge of handling suppliers and how to develop them for supplies to organizational requirements. Demonstrated ability to deliver in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining high attention to detail. Good organizing, multitasking and time management skills that delivers effective planning and housekeeping standards. Experience in dealing with international counterparts will be added advantage. Knowledge of any foreign language will be added advantage. Hands-on experience with ERP-systems Fair idea of basic commercial and financial understanding – desirable Good knowledge of P2P - Procure to Pay process flow - desirable.

Education Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in from a reputed university, preferably from the engineering domain.

Experience

At least 10/15 years’ experience in Category management, PLP , Procurement .
