JOB PROFILE
The job involves taking ownership and complete responsibility for building the estimates to create benchmarking analysis for corporate and investment banks using industry and financial research and presenting the analysis to onshore teams and clients. Typical projects will involve gathering, analyzing, synthesizing and presenting data using structured methodologies and frameworks. Projects may take couple of days to several weeks for completion.
Key responsibilities involve:
Build and maintain models to estimate granular, product level key performance metrics for Investment banks (e.g., Revenue, cost, Risk weighted assets) and create market size estimates for Investment or transaction banking products
Complete ownership to explain the market trends, drivers and the reasons for change in estimates/direction of revenues analyze, synthesize and summaries data and information using appropriate analytical methodologies and frameworks.
Conduct quantitative analysis (statistical analysis, financial data analysis etc.) as necessary relationships between macroeconomic indicators and IB performance metrics to arrive at forecasts/ estimates for the above KPIs and restructure models based on qualitative and quantitative information from Coalition contacts in the IB industry and update sector databases in Excel and/or customized applications
Defend and customize Coalition analysis to support key client initiatives in IB strategy, sales franchise decision, investor communication and for senior management consumption
effective search strategies and gather relevant information leveraging a broad set of resources (e.g. on-line databases, internet, external researchers etc.). Utilize both secondary and primary research sources and techniques
clients and/or other research delivery team members in articulating and refining research requests and projects, while working on multiple projects interactions through in-person meetings as well as regular interaction over emails
research results through the creation of structured end-products (spreadsheets, reports, presentations etc.) Ad hoc research requests, knowledge building and business development projects as necessary
regular workflow meetings with the in – house and onsite Account managers in London, New York and Singapore and/ or work with an expanded team of analysts while working on multiple projects
Ensure that the project is delivered on time and any delays are communicated on time
Leading process improvement, skill development, technology/tool development initiatives
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
The successful candidate will have to demonstrate the following skills, experience and attributes likely to have been gained over five years of relevant experience:
MBA or post graduate degree in business management, statistics, economics or similar analytical fields.
Professional certifications like CFA, FRM, CAIA etc. would be an added advantage
Strong quantitative skills, an analytical mind and an ability to work with significant amounts of data, both numerical and qualitative
to take decisions while working with unstructured and limited information
experience in financial research / analytics
knowledge of global capital markets products preferred
strong degree of independence and self-motivation
in spoken and written English is essential
working skills with MS office tools, especially good at advanced Excel and PowerPoint
knowledge of professional information services like Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters etc preferred
of financial products related to investment banks
and Time Management skills
Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Education Qualificaiton:MBA
Experience - 8-12
