Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Specialist Employment Type: On Going Fractional Full Time (0.75 EFT) Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Nuclear Medicine Specialists to join the Northern Imaging Victoria team. About Northern Health: Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Community Hospital, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg. Northern Imaging Victoria is the medical imaging program of Northern Health and provides a comprehensive and integrated service consisting of Diagnostic Radiology, Interventional Radiology and Nuclear Medicine/PET. Our services are based across multiple Northern Health sites, with a focus on acute and emergency imaging and intervention at the Northern Hospital Epping which serves the busiest Emergency Department in Victoria. Additional imaging services are provided at Broadmeadows Hospital, Craigieburn Community Hospital, Kilmore Hospital and Bundoora Centre. Our department is equipped with the latest medical imaging equipment and a best of breed RIS-PACS and VR system. About the Role: An exciting opportunity exists for enthusiastic Nuclear Medicine Specialists to join the Northern Imaging Victoria team at Northern Health. You will be part of a team delivering safe, high quality and efficient Nuclear Medicine and PET services to referrers and patients of Northern Health as well as external referrers. This role requires general Nuclear Medicine skills including PET-CT and Nuclear Cardiology. This is an ongoing fractional senior medical role and commences in February 2026 (or at a date to be confirmed with the successful candidate). To be successful in this role you will have: Essential Qualifications, Registrations and Qualities Primary medical qualification (MBBS, MB BCh, MD or equivalent) registrable with AHPRA with currency of practice and ongoing CPD participation. Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in Clinical Radiology or Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in Nuclear Medicine. For dual-trained Radiologists, completed training in Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT recognized by RANZCR and RACP. Ability to gain a Medicare provider number. Broad specialist knowledge and experience in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine and PET-CT including diagnosis, staging, image guided treatment planning and radionuclide therapies for safe and independent consultant practice. Competent in performing and reporting Myocardial Perfusion studies including treadmill exercise and pharmacologic stress testing. For dual-trained Radiologists, this includes competence in plain film radiography, CT, US, fluoroscopy and core procedural skills. Demonstrated commitment to excellence in medical imaging service delivery. Demonstrated commitment to continued improvement and team work. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills that enable the development of professional relationships across a broad range of people.
