Job Overview:
The Assistant Manager - Sales is responsible for leading and guiding the sales team, which includes Tele Sales, Field Marketing, and Sales Coordinator executives.
This role involves executing sales strategies as devised by the management, coordinating with Business Intelligence team on researching potential markets, and act on actionable customer data received to drive growth.
The Assistant Manager will also act as the primary contact for major customers, ensure seamless customer support, and oversee the achievement of sales targets.
Additionally, they will review team performance, align efforts with company objectives, and report key insights and sales metrics to the corporate office.
Strong leadership, communication, and strategic execution skills are essential for success in this role.Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Guide Sales Team:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Tele Sales, Field Marketing, and Sales Coordinator executives.
- Support team members in achieving their individual sales targets through mentorship, coaching, and strategic guidance.
Market Research and Customer Data Provision:
- Coordinate/Help with Business Intelligence team to identify potential markets, new opportunities, and key customer segments for the branch.
- Provide the Tele Sales and Field Marketing teams with relevant data provided by the Business Intelligence team to drive targeted outreach and customer engagement.
- Conduct on-site visits to customer locations to demonstrate product offerings, understand customer requirements, and build rapport.
- Present product solutions and gather feedback to tailor offerings to meet customer needs.
Planning and Functional Review:
- Develop strategic sales plans aligning with the management's goal and review the performance of Tele Sales, Field Marketing, and Sales Coordinator teams on a regular basis.
- Ensure alignment of their efforts with overall sales objectives and provide necessary feedback for continuous improvement.
Major Customer Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for major customers of the branch, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure long-term business partnerships.
- Address high-level customer concerns, negotiate contracts, and ensure customer satisfaction.
Sales Target Planning and Review:
- Set sales targets in coordination with the team and ensure that they are aligned with company objectives.
- Regularly review actual sales performance against targets, identify gaps, and provide corrective actions to meet goals.
Customer Support:
- Oversee customer support activities to ensure that clients receive timely responses and effective solutions to their queries and complaints.
- Collaborate with sales executives to ensure seamless post-sales service and support.
Reporting to Corporate Office:
- Prepare and submit regular reports on sales activities, targets, achievements, and market trends to the corporate office.
- Provide actionable insights to senior management for decision-making and strategy refinement.
Education:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 6+ years of experience in a sales role with at least 2 years in a supervisory or assistant manager position, preferably within the manufacturing or industrial sector.
Certifications:Any relevant certification in this field will be an added advantage.
