With a lean team of 9, we ship delightful, ai based, data-driven products—from habit trackers and child-care tools to hobbyist utilities for coin collectors, gardeners, and more.Role OverviewWe’re hiring a Node.js Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the backend infrastructure powering our apps. You’ll own services end-to-end, collaborate closely with the founder/designers, and help shape our technical direction.What You’ll DoDesign and implement high-quality backend architecture and microservicesBuild secure, well-documented APIs and data modelsSet up and manage cloud infrastructure (servers, EC2, S3, networking, CI/CD)Create AI workflows (image-based identification, AI chat) with production pipelinesChoose the tech stack and lead key architectural decisionsOptimize performance, reliability, and cost; monitor and debug in productionCollaborate cross-functionally to translate product requirements into technical specsDeploy on AWS/GCP and manage cloud resources effectivelyContribute to hiring and team buildingRequirements3+ years of backend engineering experienceStrong hands-on Node.js with production systemsSolid Basics with cloud & Dev Ops: AWS (EC2, S3, IAM), basic networking, observabilityUnderstanding of databases (Mongo DB or relational) and schema/design trade-offsFamiliar with service design principles, APIs, and mobile-app backendsStrong problem-solving, ownership, and communication skillsNice to have: Java experience, GCP/AWS exposure, prior freelancing/startup experienceBenefitsZero-to-One impact and meaningful ownership (competitive salary + ESOPs)Flexible/remote-friendly work environmentHealth insurance and other perksProfessional growth in a fast-moving, collaborative teamIf you’re excited to build life changing products that help people live better, we’d love to hear from you.
