Job Description The Asset Incharge plays a pivotal role in ensuring the optimal performance, longevity, and availability of construction equipment and assets across project sites. This position is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle management of machinery and tools, from procurement and deployment to maintenance, tracking, and decommissioning. With a strong focus on operational efficiency, cost control, and safety compliance, the Asset Incharge ensures that all equipment is properly maintained, documented, and available when needed. This role is critical in minimizing downtime, reducing operational risks, and supporting the timely delivery of construction projects. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in equipment maintenance with strong administrative and organizational skills to maintain accurate records, manage inventory, and coordinate with field teams and procurement departments. Responsibilities: Oversee the complete lifecycle management of construction assets, including tracking, maintenance scheduling, and asset disposal. Develop and maintain a centralized asset register with detailed records including serial numbers, purchase dates, maintenance history, location, and assigned personnel. Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities for all heavy machinery and tools to ensure peak performance and compliance with safety standards. Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment to identify wear, damage, or safety hazards and initiate timely repairs. Liaise with field supervisors, project managers, and maintenance teams to ensure seamless equipment deployment and availability. Manage procurement and replacement of assets based on usage, lifecycle analysis, and project requirements. Maintain accurate documentation for insurance, audits, and regulatory compliance. Implement and enforce asset tracking systems, including barcode or RFID tagging, to improve visibility and accountability. Analyze asset utilization data to identify inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving improvements. Train site personnel on proper equipment handling, safety protocols, and reporting procedures for asset issues. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred). 4–5 years of progressive experience in asset management, equipment maintenance, or construction operations. Proven experience in managing heavy construction equipment (e.g., excavators, cranes, bulldozers, loaders). Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance schedules, repair procedures, and safety standards (OSHA or equivalent). Proficiency in asset management software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excellent organizational, administrative, and record-keeping skills with attention to detail. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations. Strong communication and coordination skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and sites. Willingness to travel to project sites as needed for inspections, audits, or on-site support. Requirements Manage the day-to-day operations at the construction site, ensuring project timelines, quality, and safety standards are strictly adhered to. Review project drawings, specifications, and schedules to plan construction activities efficiently. Coordinate with architects, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution. Monitor project progress, resource utilization, and budget compliance, taking corrective actions as needed. Lead site meetings and provide regular progress reports to management and clients. Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, quality standards, and safety norms on-site. Identify and resolve potential issues proactively to avoid project delays or cost overruns. Supervise material procurement and inventory management at the site. Mentor and guide project engineers, supervisors, and site staff.
