Risk and Identity Solutions team within VAS (Value added Services) organization is looking for curious, creative, and talented technologists to join our team. This includes idea generation, architecture, design, development, and testing of products, applications, and services that provide Visa clients with solutions to detect, prevent, and mitigate fraud for Visa and Visa client payment systems.

As part of this role, you will be responsible for availability, latency, performance, efficiency, monitoring, emergency response and capacity planning. In this role, you will be responsible for developing systems and features that help increase performance and site reliability. You will be responsible to troubleshoot client facing issues and work with different stakeholders to mitigate the issue.

Essential Functions:

We are looking for a technically expert Sr Software Engineer for our team based out our BLR office to assure client success in using our product. You will have an opportunity to participate in design reviews and identify gaps, detect problems, perform root cause analysis, identify, and implement permanent solutions. As a Sr, SW Engineer, you will have the opportunity to bring your creative mind and technology experience to help build dashboards, audit, alert, and solutions. Develop and maintain automation tools to handle all engineering and application support tasks.  Ability to write and maintain scripts to monitor system activity including application smoke test activities during production implementations.  Engage in production issue troubleshooting bridge calls, provide immediate service restoration, follow up on root cause analysis, and ensure permanent fix is implemented to avoid similar problems in the future. Work closely with the corresponding dev teams on suggesting new features and enhancements based on live issues. Subject matter expertise for the assigned product verticals. Must be flexible to working in shifts and during weekends and extended hours when needed.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor’s degree, OR 5+ years of
relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications: 
• 5+ years of proven experience in successfully delivering advanced solutions
for a multi-tier, distributed web application.
• Bachelor’s with 5 years or Masters in Computer Science/Engineering with 3
years of work experience respectively.
• Minimum requirement for Information Technology Infrastructure Library
Foundation Certificate, (ITIL) Intermediate or higher certification is a plus.
• Experience in Core Java, GoLang, Python and JavaScript.
• Hands on in Hadoop Ecosystem (Kafka, Spark, Scala, Hive) is a plus.
• Ability to analyze thread dumps, heap dumps, garbage collection and other
related JVM components.
• Ability to solve complex production problems and debug code.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and container orchestration with
Kubernetes and any cloud platform (AWS/GCP/Azure)
• In-depth knowledge of services-oriented Architecture, restful web services, and
API integration.
• Experience in ELK, Grafana, Splunk & Humio for monitoring application specific
logs, visualize metrics, create dashboard, and alerts.
• Good understanding of Linux OS concepts, CPU performance, Load Avg,
Network analysis, Memory utilization, JVM Garbage Collection strategies etc.
• Understanding concepts like Connection Pooling, Load balancers, max
connections, rate limiting, traffic routing, network latency.
• Good understanding of Caching Technologies like Elastic cache, CDN/Edge
Servers
• Experience in container-based architecture.
• Experience in any one of scripting languages (shell, python etc.)
• Understanding of AI/ML is a plus.
