Job Description :


We are seeking a talented and experienced Database Performance Tuning Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for tuning and optimizing database performance in complex environments, ensuring seamless operation and maximum efficiency. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional solutions to our clients.


Key Responsibilities :

  • Perform performance tuning activities including query optimization, index tuning, caching, and buffer tuning.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any performance, replication, or operational issues that arise in database environments.
  • Conduct database migrations and upgrades, while providing recommendations for server performance tuning.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot performance issues, implementing database optimizations as necessary.
  • Utilize a solid understanding of PostgreSQL fundamentals, with expertise in query tuning.
  • Experience with tuning enterprise workloads, database design, and partitioning.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries, and familiarity with functions, procedures, triggers, etc. in PostgreSQL.
  • Exposure to various PostgreSQL extensions such as PG Partman, Auto Explain, PG Cron, etc.
  • Previous experience working on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders.

Nice to have :

  • Experience with scripting languages like shell scripting or Python development.

Skills & Requirements :

  • Proven experience with PostgreSQL fundamentals and query tuning.
  • Familiarity with multiple PostgreSQL extensions and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work directly with clients.
  • Experience with enterprise workload tuning, database design, and partitioning.
  • Proficiency in SQL query writing and understanding of database functions.
  • Nice to have: Scripting experience in shell scripting or Python development.
