Founding Engineer

Key Responsibilities: Platform Architecture & Design: Design and implement the core architecture of the M&A platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Develop system components for data ingestion, processing, storage, and integration across multiple modules (due diligence, valuation, matchmaking, synergy analysis, etc.). Full-Stack Development: Build backend services and RESTful APIs to support platform features including data access, analysis, and transaction management. Design a clean, intuitive, and high-performance front-end user interface for bankers, buyers, and advisors. Ensure seamless integration between various platform modules (data ingestion, analytics, workflow engine, etc.). Data Engineering & Machine Learning: Develop and implement data pipelines for structured and unstructured data ingestion and processing (financial data, contracts, corporate documents, etc.). Build and deploy machine learning models for predictive analytics, NLP-based document processing, and recommendation engines (e.g., matchmaking, synergy analysis). Create workflows for AI/ML training, validation, and deployment. Design robust data storage and retrieval systems, ensuring data security and efficient access for AI-driven insights. Security & Compliance: Implement security best practices for data handling, access control, and user authentication. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, such as GDPR, especially for sensitive financial and corporate data. Product Development & Leadership: Collaborate with the product team to translate business requirements into technical specifications. Lead the technical team, mentoring junior engineers and ensuring best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment. Drive continuous improvement through pilots, user feedback, and A/B testing.
Required Skills and Qualifications: Software Engineering: 7+ years of experience in software development, ideally with prior experience in fintech, enterprise SaaS, or B2B platforms. Strong proficiency in Python, Java, or Node.js for backend development and React, Angular, or Vue.js for frontend. Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, or Azure for deployment, scaling, and maintenance. Expertise in building and consuming RESTful APIs, working with databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch. Data Engineering: Experience in ETL pipelines, data ingestion, and processing tools such as Apache Kafka, Apache Spark, or Airflow. Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases for structured and unstructured data. Strong understanding of data architecture, handling large datasets, and ensuring performance at scale. Machine Learning & AI: Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn. Knowledge of NLP techniques (Named Entity Recognition, Sentiment Analysis) and tools such as spaCy, Hugging Face for document processing. Experience building predictive analytics systems and recommendation engines using ML models. Ability to design, train, and deploy models in production environments. System Design & Security: Strong knowledge of system architecture, microservices, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and distributed systems. Familiarity with security protocols, encryption, data masking, and compliance frameworks. Understanding of scaling strategies for high-availability systems. Soft Skills & Leadership: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with product, business, and engineering teams. Experience in leading technical teams and providing mentorship. Ability to operate in an agile environment with a focus on quick iteration and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with M&A platforms, financial services, or investment banking software. Familiarity with fintech regulatory requirements and data privacy laws. Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools for continuous integration and deployment.
