Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Junior Accountant at The Tamarind Tree. The Junior Accountant will be responsible for maintaining records of transactions, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports. They will also assist with budgeting, forecasting, and auditing.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Post and process journal entries to ensure accurate recording of all business transactions.
  • Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
  • Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
  • Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements in adherence to legal and company accounting guidelines.
  • Support in reviewing expenses, payroll records, etc., as assigned.
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure accuracy and immediate availability when needed.
  • Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
  • Assist senior accountants in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
  • Collaborate on other accounting projects as required.


Qualifications

  • Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and reconcile accounts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Experience in the hospitality industry is a plus.
  • 0.6-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience as a junior accountant.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of accounting reporting principles and practices.
  • Note: This is an in-person role.
