Job Description
USEReady is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Starburst Architect to join our growing team. As a Starburst Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing data solutions using Starburst Enterprise. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to understand business requirements, develop architectural blueprints, and ensure the successful deployment and operation of Starburst-based data platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable and high-performance data architectures using Starburst Enterprise.
  • Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and ETL pipelines for data ingestion and transformation.
  • Configure and optimize Starburst clusters for performance, security, and reliability.
  • Integrate Starburst with various data sources, including relational databases, data warehouses, and cloud storage.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business analysts to understand data requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues and data quality problems.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Starburst features and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for data architectures, processes, and configurations.
  • Participate in pre-sales activities, including solution design and presentations.
  • Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) to demonstrate the value of Starburst to potential clients.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-8 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and data warehousing concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with Starburst Enterprise or Trino (formerly PrestoSQL).
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling techniques.
  • Experience with data integration tools and ETL processes.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Experience with data governance and security best practices.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with other data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka is a plus.
  • Starburst certifications are a plus.
